Again....context. Dak wasn't sacked more than 3 times in a game, Dalton got sacked 4 times and got consistent pressure put on him all night. I will repeat: Dalton is not on Dak's level, but even Dak would have struggled last night and might have been sacked EVEN MORE since he struggles with pressure coming from his right side (oddly enough)

The O-line hasn't been good this year, but they were atrocious last night. It's hard to even know what Dalton brings us due to it being so poor.

Not a Dak 'hater', but it should be noted that he isn't exactly keeping good company in that stat. Both Matt Ryan and Deshaun Watson are on 1-5 teams with bad defenses. Sound familiar? It's rarely a good idea to look at stats unless they're truly understood.

For the record, Dak is clearly a better QB option than Dalton -- I don't think that's really debatable. The only question is, is he worth the contract?

Two main QB stats equate the most to success, and passing yards is not one of them.
I'm positive the OP must know this but is just posting this out of amusement.

The two main stats, when combined, almost always give a good picture of how the QB is playing

Those two stats are:

1. Standard QB rating_____Dak was 14th after 5 games.
2. Total TDs - total turnovers_____Dak was 8th or 9th (now lower but just counting after 5 games)

So he was in that top 10-11 range....which top 1/3 in the league.

Sometimes, the passing yards leaders ARE also the leaders in those other stats.
Sometimes, like last year with Winston, and to a lesser degree with Dak, they are not.

Nah. I think the Chiefs are good. Mahomes deserves every penny because his strengths outweigh the weaknesses of his defense. Dak has proven time and time again that he needs elite talent around him to be good. So, that begs the question - how are the DC going to afford elite talent when Dak has a cap hit of $40M+?
