Even if we win the division, which I think isn't likely at this point, this offseason is going to be interesting.

- You will have questions about Moore and Nolan. Nolan is probably a keeper because he's McCarthy's buddy. Will McCarthy use the poor season as an excuse to maybe bring in an OC more in line with him? I can't imagine McCarthy likes running reverses from the 5 yard line, but who knows.

- How do they go about the Dak situation? Do they hold the line in the sand at their current contract offer? Does Dak ask for more? Does he accept he's coming off injury and maybe he has to take a bit less? Do the Cowboys just tag him?

- The Cowboys could have a high pick and will have 10 picks total, I believe. They will have the ammunition to move around on draft weekend if they so choose.

- Free agency is going to be interesting. For starters, there's a good chance the league cap number could be lower than it was this year. Cowboys have limited flexibility already, now you are adding in a potential lower cap? I can't see them being very active in FA. Then you have issues with contracts of underperforming players. Smith, you might be able to move on from. Elliott? You are stuck.

When you look at the division, it seems the Skins are on the rise but have a big QB question to answer. Giants seem to be in slow motion getting ever so slightly better. Philly might be in trouble. An aging roster that isn't very good, a QB being paid elite money that isn't that good right now and a team that could be $70 million or more over the cap next year. And then there is us.......... there are pieces there for sure but so many questions, especially on defense. Think about it....... you likely need upgrades at DT, S, CB and probably another LB. That seems impossible to fix in one offseason and then you have to remember you have Nolan pulling the strings. This team might need to build in the short term around trying to blitz teams offensively to compensate for continued mediocre to poor defense.

There will not be any major changes or major free agents.

HC, OC and DC stay. One of the DB coaches might be in trouble but only if the HC or DC does not like them.

The intrigue will be stay put or trade down in the draft.

Contract or Tag for Dak.

Are we sure we beat the Bengals in two weeks? I know I am not. RG3 is gonna run over us on Thursday. I love the Alex Smith story but he is washed. Their best quarterback was the tight end.

Either way yes it will

The coaching staff will not change. The injuries and initial Covid-19 off-season will allow Jerry Jones and Stephen to resell McCarthy.

I think it's a fair to give McCarthy a 2 more seasons...Dalton included our QB depth chart and talent level is getting better. I don't like Dalton but he's the best back-up we've had.
- How do they go about the Dak situation? Do they hold the line in the sand at their current contract offer? Does Dak ask for more? Does he accept he's coming off injury and maybe he has to take a bit less? Do the Cowboys just tag him?
I love Dak but injuries are part of the game. I'd be a hypocrite if I changed my stance on Dak.. Exclusive Franchise Tag again at $38M and make Prescott proved the ankle hasn't affected his improved QB mechanics and abilities.

TAKE BEST OLINEMAN AVAILABLE!!

I like what the Coaching staff did in season with adjusting to poor play and Injuries.

I am excited about Will McClay and McCarthy 2nd go around.

We will still have the best QB in the division when Dak comes back.

What makes you think Nolan will have the same draft pull as Marinelli????? I don't see that at all....IMO, Stephen, Jerry, McClay, and MM will make those calls.

They are gonna write this off to injuries and stick with the same formula next year.

I understand keeping Moore and McCarthy. But Nolan is never going to produce a better unit. This is how his defenses always play. Keeping him and expecting different results with a few rookies is a tremendous mistake

This^^^^^^ it's not that hard once we have all the pieces back, add a couple of draft studs, and sign a few mid-level free agents. We'll be fine....

This should be an interesting off-season, and it can't come soon enough.

We'll have to wait and see what happens with Martin and Erving. Without them, I doubt the Cowboys win two more games.

But they probably will beat the Bengals and maybe the Giants the last game of the year.

Here are a few things I think.

Connor Williams should be replaced by Connor McGovern at LG. McGovern is not great but he is better at straight ahead blocking than Williams. Williams can move to swing tackle or backup guard.

Jaylon Smith is not the answer at LB. They need someone who is smarter, quicker, and a better tackler who can get off blocks and fill gaps. Jaylon is too often out of position, late to recognize the play and not playing behind the LOS enough.

X Woods is not the answer at S either. It seems like every big play against the defense Woods is missing a tackle or blowing a coverage. Wilson looks like he is way more active than anyone else on the team but he is by himself back there and still young. I would really like to know what Reggie Robinson is doing inactive every week. How much worse can he be than the Cowboys CBs who were playing yesterday when Brown and Awuzie were out? I am not convinced moving Robinson to S was the right decision. They can use some talent at CB and Reggie is big and fast. In any case, regardless of position why is he net getting playing time?

The Cowboys have some good rotational guys at DT now, but they need one stud DT who commands a double team every play. The Cowboys tackles get knocked off the ball by one guy leaving a guy free to get at the LBs.

The Cowboys have been decimated by injuries this year and they all seem to be at the same positions, OL and CB. I have no doubt that if not for the injuries they would win the NFC East easily. Of course that is not saying much and they'd still get knocked out of the playoffs early because the defense stinks.

Losing your starting QB is not something a team cam overcome. I know the Eagles made it to the Superbowl with a backup, but there are instances where maybe the backup is actually better than the starter. I think we are seeing it in Washington now. Alex Smith is the best QB on the Washington roster. He should have been starting from game 1 but clearly the WFT wanted to see what Haskins could do. Then Kyle Allen was a HC favorite, but Smith is the better QB. Dak is way better than Dalton.

For me, the Kellen Moore experiment is over. His play calling is questionable almost every game. For example, he calls those WR screens in the red zone all the time. Why? They never work. Every time he calls it, the WR is tackled at the LOS or for a loss. They are poorly executed or the other team sniffs them out. Again, why? This is the OC's responsibility to improve the execution or stop calling those plays. The same thing with the trick plays inside the 10. The Cowboys have 3 excellent receivers, a decent TE and a $90 million RB. Why the need for trickery?

Draft Sewell at 3. Resign Dak.

Dak
Zeke, Pollard
Cooper, Gallup, Lamb
Jarwin, Schultz
Smith - Sewell - Biadasz - Martin - Collins

Spend other 9 picks and FA on defense.

1000%......but what if we picking 2nd overall?

I'm not getting the KM hate at all.......he the same OC whose offense was ranked 1st last year and blowing up the league before Dak's injury. Pretty sure injuries have cost him half of his playbook.......

It's easier to just point out who's NOT injured.

Nolan is McCarthy's boy. If you don't think that Nolan will have input into who we take on defense, especially since he seemingly wants to go to a more 3-4/4-3 hybrid D, then you are fooling yourself.
