i dont worry about paying for dak or zack - those are two premium players in their prime and without health issues at critical roles

Tyron is a maybe - simply becuase of the injury history and im on the crew that is ready to move on from him....however, maybe being off the rest of the year gets him healthy again

Zeke and Cooper - while i like both, were dumb contracts - zeke especially, cooper was not dumb at the time but in retrospect its dumb since we picked up lamb

Dlaw - this one is so hard....guy is very good but just doesn't get the stats....IF we had a good DT push i dont think we would be having the same concerns with this guys contract, but the problem is that hes literally the only talent on the worst dline in football and is just not worth the dollars.

Eh i think Colin is looking at the wrong things. Dak at a $30MM cap hit is pretty reasonable, DLAW is a top DE in this league, Cooper has been extremely productive despite the QB mess. Zeke ill give to him, overall hes been a pretty average player maybe worse this year between the drops and fumbles. Zach Martin is a top G in the league, Tyron is an issue due to the injuries.

The issue is the rest of the roster, not the top guys for the most part. You have almost nothing at S, DT. LB has been a mess, and you are counting on potential at CB. O line has been a mess with injuries, i cant say i really expect a team to have enough depth to overcome what they have this year, but the Cowboys have done an OK job in that area given the situation.

He has a point but if you going to make an argument you need to compare guys at their relevant positions with each other. He compares Lawrence salary with Lockett 's salary. That is comparing a DE with a WR. The only salary that I think is over paid is Zeke. Amari we can get out of.

Tyron has clearly become a guy that we can't depend on.. That's gone on for awhile.

La'el Collins? I'd say up until last year we never got the quality we expected. He was really good.

Now this year? Hurts his hip and misses a year?


For someone being unbiased and looking at it objectively you can easily make the case that is money being wasted.

Cowherd is an Eagles and Wentz guy so it’s hard to take him seriously. Philadelphia has more bad contracts then we do. Our contracts really are not that bad we can get out of Cooper and Jaylon after the 2021 season. Dak’s franchise tag money is the problem. I am in the tag and trade camp when it comes to Dak.

"You're going into a really average half a decade if things don't change for the Cowboys."


The injuries held us back this year but what ultimately did they hold us back from?

Colin does a good job explaining my belief that you don't pay good players, like Dak, like they are great.

Dallas has a 1 way ticket to mediocreville looking at them.

Were in trouble....major trouble with the risk of it lasting 4-5 years and yes the Pom Poms are high in the air here in our wonderful CZ.....
