This is true. Jones has been playing hurt for a long time and finally got the surgery. The injury clearly affected his performance and I won’t knock a guy for trying to gut through something for his team.

One of the hard truths about the NFL is guys lose their jobs when they get hurt. Life moves on and people step up and earn playing time. Niswander has played really well and can obviously handle the role at a cheaper rate.

At a minimum— he has earned the right to have an open competition with Jones in the offseason.

It’s not that. He got his big contract after he had the huge fake punt run. That’s how Jerry grades players. One great play out of 5 million bad ones. You get paid and stay for years
