11 QBs have started a game in the NFC East this year. 12, if Heinicke starts for WFT on Sunday.

3 HCs in the NFC East are new to their organizations, one of which had never been more than a ST coordinator and WR coach before.

The stuff we can't talk about limited the offseason significantly as we all know.

No one should be surprised by how bad the teams in this division are. It was a remarkable confluence of factors to nuke each one.

And now, going into week 17, the division totals 21 wins, and no one will finish at .500 or higher. 12 teams in the league currently have 10 or more wins, and this division as a whole has 21. Remarkable.

But each team (except Philly :lmao:) has got much better as the year has went on and the impact of offseason prep starts getting overshadowed by actual games being played. Jones started looking good around November and NY looked like they might win it. Then WFT rose on the back of a great young defense. Now Dallas is peaking on a 3 game win streak. If NY gets in, can Jones get hot again? Can Smith get healthy? Can Dallas avoid choking?

I don't know. But this division and year will be looked back on and labeled the worst ever, and the top team will be labeled the worst playoff team ever, but in all reality that narrative won't show that the division started getting a lot closer to average near the end. This division beat Pit, Sea, and NO all late. This division can win a playoff game.

So here we are. The end of a long and frustrating season is upon is. I'll never forget being simultaneously a game out of pick 1 and the playoffs at about the midpoint.

But now we're probably picking 11th at best and 19th at worst, which isn't that big of a difference and nothing like the gap between 3 or 4 and 9 or 10. And we've got the playoffs right there because this team just couldn't help but win.

So heck it. The tank has been stopped. If you're still on it, you aren't paying attention. Someone else can drive it if they want but for the 872nd time of my life the Cowboys are filling me with false hopes, now also dreams of being the worst playoff team ever and somehow knocking Brady out of the playoffs anyway. I wanted to focus on the future but the team took us here anyway so if we're gonna play a win-or-go-home game, let's do it proper.

So for the final time of 2020:

Tanker Das OUT.

All I wanted for Christmas was a Dallas Cowboys tank. I guess that I've been too naughty all year. So it ain't going to happen.

Oh well....

Wishing for a better draft pick was out the window 3 weeks ago, at this point when you look at this team, the "chance" out weighs any significant gain in draft slotting at this point.
I would love nothing more than just to start rolling teams,, if the Skins can toss their bellies in the air for us.

The tanking sentiment may have ceased but the post-tanking fretting will last through the late April draft. So, saddle up Apone. There is plenty of grousing about who Jerry Jones should pick (and whether he should stand pat or trade) ahead of CowboysZone between now and then.

You know, at least Team Tank gave us something to get excited about for that 10 or so week stretch of some of the worst Dallas Cowboys football I've ever watched.

No matter what happens or where we pick. There will be those always whining we could have had player X at 11 than player Y at 19.

Yep. And they're right, but meh. I've only seen a few dallas playoff games in my 2 decades of watching, so to hell with it. We're here, just go for it.

Plus imagine this team during training camp and next season if they turn this 3-9 start into knocking Brady out of the playoffs

The only team in this division who did not beat a single team with a winning record is Dallas.

I didnt say we aren't garbage lol

But just imagine that 1% chance of us being not only the worst playoff team ever but also being the team to knock out Brady in humiliating fashion

It's Brady. We're under 500. That playoff defeat would be brought up for decades lololol

I was not aware that DasSchinitzel - aka 'TankerDas' - provided a weekly update on the NFL teams' draft status in general, and the Cowboys specifically (even though I commented a few times on his updates toward the end).
Put in work on this summary... but some opinions listed are put forward as facts.
First of all - when the NFC East finished week 4 as the only division with all teams under .500 - the mocking ramped up among sports media = "NFC LEast".
But as the season went on -- the narrative- no - ridicule - ramped up as if this situation never happened before.
Fact - this is the third time a sub .500 division has happened In just over a decade - NFC West 2010, NFC South 2014.
