Come on man. Being an NFL head coach is way harder than being an analyst and requires a lot more seasoning and experience to be good at it. Right now, Tony Romo is completely unprepared and unqualified to be a head coach at this level.

I’m continually amazed how little respect there is for the coaching profession and how hard it is to be prepared for it and to succeed. I’m not a huge MM fan, nor am I a defender of his bad decisions. But the focus of any Cowboys fans frustration needs to start with the guy in the owners box. He doesn’t want to win bad enough to do what it takes to win.

Not sure I agree. I don’t think McCarthy would make a good analyst lol

Once upon a time (August 2016), Tony Romo's had the complete support of Jerry Jones. A long time afterwards (late October 2016), Jerry Jones dropped Tony Romo completely for his new rookie phenom Dak Prescott. Skip ahead many moons later (January 2021), some people still hold onto a perpetual delusion Tony Romo, owner of one of the best occupations in television broadcasting, will do a 180 degree spin, quit his CBS gig, and return to the same guy, who supported him 100% and then kicked him to the curb for his replacement, within a span of a quarter year.

Yeah. That ain't happening. Ever.

The End (until someone suggests the exact same thing or something similar yet again)

I was a big Romo fan when he was playing for the cowboys.

but come on people. The hero
Worship is a bit much. I mean seriously. In what way is he qualified to be a head coach immediately with no coaching experience?

I mean seriously goodness gracious.
He predicts some plays while broadcasting and gets excited like a preteen girl at a boy band concert.

The game is only a few hours old and the stupid off season post have started.

We need to move on from everything Cowboys of the past. Romo, Lee, Witten, Zimmer, Wade, etc. We didn't win anything with them, what makes you think we will with them? Time to move on, lets try something new.

If he can really read offenses like he does from the booth the only conclusion I can come to is he needs to be our DC. And I do think Aikman is gonna be a very good GM one day if he wants to.....

I hate McCarthy, he is the most apathetic coach in pro sports. I'll bet my entire net worth that we'll never win anything as long as he's here. At least JG was loved by the players, this bum couldn't even get his family to move to Texas with him.

This has been Romo's team for almost 2 decades and he has proven to be the most knowledgeable football person ever. Double his salary, give him full control and bring him in. Otherwise sign whomever, I can't stand MM the coach. I'm sure he is a nice person though, but who cares.
Goodnight nurse.

How Romo became THE Cowboys God for some of you shows how bad this franchise has fallen.

I promise you that Romo is not the end-all-be-all in Cowboys history.
Be it trolling, sarcasm, or a genuinely delusional opinion...postings like this are the drawback to no-restrictions posting.

Why would he want to come to this s-show? The former America's Team isn't worth leaving the booth for.

If he ends up a good coach, he’d be a hall of gamer as player, coach, and in the booth. Pretty talented guy.
Don't forget golfer, i thought he qualified to a pro tournament..
