Tanking would have been the right strategy

Pederson said after the game he was “coaching to win.” How can you justify that in the slightest when the qb you took out of the game has earned the right to start & finish the season after what he was able to put together in the previous 3 games?

How can you say that when in the first 5 plays that Sudfeld was under center, an interception & fumble lost occurred, but he remained in the game?!

Many Eagles including Kelce & Staley tweeted about the deliberate tank. It was very obvious what Peterson was doing & he paid the price.
pulling your qb playing very poorly in the 4th qtr is NOT tanking.. get over it... its been blown out of proprtion and sorry but pederson wasn't let go for getting his owner a better draft pick..lmao he wasl et go because he wants to trade wentz and start Hurts next year , he and the owner got into a heated argument over player personnel and that why he was let go..period end of story..

So you want to TANK PURPOSELY TEACH OUR PLAYERS TO LOSE...

Then complain about our terrible draft picks.

It's so idiotic it's not even funny.

The locker room was clearly behind Hurts. Then they could look to the inactives and IR that week.

Lurie has his finger on everything in Philadelphia. If they indeed were trying to tank he would have been leading the charge.

Like anyone has to excuse anything to you. Tanking does not get a presumption of success.

We saw a trainwreck in Philly when they appeared to tank 1 game. You wanted to tank 4. That is just reality.

The best case would've been Sewell as we never had a shot at the top 2.

Then of course we would've had to blow up the team again with a new coaching staff because all trust in them would be gone.

Noteveryone thinks blowing up the team every couple of years is a good idea much less every year.
Nice pep talk. Then reality hits you. Drafting 3rd or 4th is much better than drafting 10th. Much more could have been accomplished in the draft drafting that much higher.

Wouldn't it be great to have the first pick in the coming draft? Instead, we have 6 wins that don't amount to anything. Here is a tip, the Cowboys are going to suck in 2021 also so stop trying to be something you're not. Lose and build a better team through the draft. The 5 or 6 wins you get trying to win aren't worth it.
Yes they are.

Tanking is for fans that don't give a crap about pride and effort. It makes me sick.
Don't forget your man crush was a fourth round pick. Would you trade him for a top two pick this year? If so, you're admitting that he isn't the answer.

Making pronouncements about the unknowable is fun I guess.

Again Philadelphia appeared to tank one game and several members of the locker room freaked out.

I know it's fun to think that actually tanking four games has no downside but trying to ignore it with presumption to your preferred outcome does not make it so.

Weak attempt to bring in Dak into this conversation. Dak is not going anywhere, and he shouldn't. He's proven he deserves to stay here for years to come AND GET PAID. You definitely can't say the same about your highly overpaid man crush who was drafted #4 overall, can you? I was referring to have possibly been able to draft at either #3 or #4 where the Cowboys easily could have gone after the best Tackle in the draft to replace either Tyron or La'el if either one is not able to continue or gets injured once again. Or we could have used such a high pick to trade down while picking up an extra 2nd and a 3rd or 4th round picks since there are so many holes to fill. What makes me sick is complaining about pride and effort when there was none for the first 3/4th of the season with no chance to make the playoffs with a month left. It would have been better to play backups the last month, see who is worth keeping or releasing, while securing much better options for the draft since there is much to fix with this team.

Not an attempt. I did it on purpose to prove a point. You can't win with a top pick alone. You need much more than that, so to lose on purpose for a top draft pick is not a magic pill. I will never understand how a fan can want a team to lose to roll the dice on a pick. To each their own, I guess.

People talk about it never being helpful to lose on purpose, but we've been struggling to get to 8-8 every year for 15 years. If overcoming adversity to get to middling were actually such a character builder, we would have won many Super Bowls by now.

We're picking 10th. Which is OK. But we could have been picking 3rd or 4th or something in every round. So that's 40-50 spots of surrendered draft capital. And we didn't make the playoffs, so that flurry of wins at the end of the year did nothing but set us back long-term.

Also, signing a veteran backup quarterback - unless you're a serious contender, not a Jerry Jones magical-thinking contender - is a waste of resources. We got Andy Dalton. At the end of the year, our backup quarterback was better than the backup quarterbacks for other teams with injured starters. So we won a few games. It didn't help us. It hurt us. See paragraph 2.
Sorry but I dont want my team trying to lose

We could have obtained a kings ransom for pick #3 and still drafted at around where were are now—in every round.

:muttley: You must have loved the Romo years, the pinnacle of mediocrity.
I love football, period. I love it more when we win. One game at a time. Who the hell wants to go 1-15??? May as well not watch for a whole season and come back the next year and hope for a draft pick to win it all. How many years do you need to tank to get enough top picks to win? You'll need more than one.
