I don’t believe he’s the best FCS tackle in the nation, as NDSU’s Dillon Radunz holds that title for me, but I could easily see a team taking Brown with a top-50 selection in the 2021 NFL Draft.

PROSPECT SUMMARY - SPENCER BROWN
Spencer Brown aligned at right tackle for UNI’s offense. He presents as a leggy, somewhat high-cut player with rare length for the position. He plays with a nasty disposition and plays hard from snap to whistle. He's a good athlete with regard to balance and body control. He is smooth and fluid in his pass set and plays with the football IQ to use his length to his advantage on the edge. Although he has been sufficient in the FCS, he projects with average lateral mobility when redirecting inside against quicker athletes. However, his length and instincts help him recover, making him difficult to beat when his technique is good.

Feel like he'd have a hard time dealing with power rushers in the NFL. A guy like DLaw would get into his chest and drive him back on every snap.

I like him as a prospect, but not early. Would need to put on quite a bit of weight in the lower body I think.

Has there ever been a really good 6-8 tackle? We all know how good Ed Jones was, but he was a DE. A 6-8 tackle would get undermined by most of the good 6-3 guards in the league.

Now maybe he could move to DE, that'd be interesting. Too Tall II?

Johnathan Ogden was 6'9. Jared Veldheer was 6'8. There are a bunch of guys at 6'7 - Whitworth, Costonzo, Fisher.

Height isn't a problem if you don't play straight up and your weight is lower.

My apologies, with all the "draft defense" posts here I assumed Brown was a defensive tackle, but he's not.

Of course a 6-8 OT can be good, the arm length, etc. is a good attribute against fast DEs...

Lol, happens to the best of us. I wondered what you meant by the 6-3 guard thing.

HOF Jonathan Ogden was like 6'9"

Mark Columbo was 6-7 or 6-8. I loved having that guy on our team.

Outstanding Offensive Freshman (2018)

This is my choice for Dallas in the 4th round.

Rugby and Basketball background, and needs lots of training, but HUGE upside and not near as likely to get pushed around. Let him play RT and move Lael to LT when Smith retires.

Kid’s super athletic. He’s a top-5 OT in several pods/reviews/talking head things I’ve seen. I’d take him with our 3rd if he’s there. He has feet that most guys that size don’t have. I also love the big LT from Ohio U (think he’s from there).

OT is a need, for sure. Mainly due to Smith's injury questions.

Hopefully not needed this year, so that he can get stronger and work on technique under Smith, but if Smith retires or doesn't get back to good form, you have a kid ready to step in....

Had enough of "project" players.

NO THANKS...

looks like a pretty good year if you need a LT/RT. Its not getting enough pub. I like this years draft crop of olineman.

He might be too tall. I think smaller faster edge rushers could give him fits. Brown for a big guy looks agile enough he could hang and surprise. I think some guy like Quincey Roche & Kwity Paye would have a field day with him. Guys in the Pros like Melvin Ingram or Brandon Graham

wasn't Doug Free 6-8? I believe so actually. He was pretty darn good at RT for a long time.

Doug Free and Columbo were massive and pretty good. Tall can get it done. If you can play, height doesnt matter.
