I've been a Cowboys fan since their very first day in the league, but there are some nicknames here that I just know who they are.

I think some or all of these are names that were used in a single article and not used again or maybe one other time and that hardy constitutes having a real nickname. A real nickname is one that is used often and to the extent that it's used more than their real name. Nicknames started by and used by some here really aren't nicknames because you can't go to other places with other football fans from all over and use those nicknames and they will know who you're talking about.

He received that nickname when he was a superstar flanker at AR. When the girls saw his big brown eyes, the nickname was born and he had this unique way of leaping, that Lynn Swann said he replicated, up for passes and really looked graceful doing it, hence the name.

Growing up in AR when he was playing was unreal, he was the first person that was bigger than life to a 10 year old boy. I didn't get the chance to meet him until 25 years later when he was a celebrity bartender for his charity at a nightclub in San Diego. I told him that him that his coming to the Cowboys and catching a TD in the SB was the ultimate sports trip for me. I was that 10 year old boy again watching my sports idol play. He is my favorite athlete of all time.

A good number of the nicknames are instantly known and associated with Cowboys Legends. But some on the list are widely regcognized and attributed with sport legends and figures that are not former Dallas players.
