The Bucs were hamstrung by a turnover machine playing QB. They have had a really good roster of talent. Brady and Todd Bowles were the perfect storm of high quality, value add talent that the Bucs could ever have hoped for.
Okay... I hate to be a stickler, but could you be more specific to the questions?

I'm sorry buddy, but I asked specific questions for specific answers.

Bucs were 7-9 last year. Winston threw 30 picks, had 12 fumbles, was sacked 47 times. The defense I believe was a top 5 unit. Brady comes in this year and wins the SB, the OL is among the best in the league and the D is still lights out. I'm pretty sure they could have won it all with a lessor QB than Brady, they just needed a good player behind center. Lucky for them they got the goat.

Ah. So The Bucs D was Top 5 last year?
I'm assuming some overall D ranking.

Wow! That's eye-opening.

Thank you.

Their run D was 1st. I looked at a stat that did not indicate they were a top 5 (my bad). I don't think they were a very good pass D. They looked pretty good this year though.

Forget Brady, Arians & Todd Bowles.
The thing to realize is the franchise with the worst winning % in league history has two SB wins since the Cowboys have even made a championship game.
Our fans cry about tanking, rebuilding, getting worst to get better. I would take 20 years of Tampa vs the 20 years of the Dallas Cowboys.
Find another QB???????

I learned our GM stinks....and our Scouting Department is limited to the Big12/Boise area.

I didn't need this game to see our GM sucks. We learned he sucked the day his ego got in the way and he fired Jimmy. The beginning of the end. Sure, we held on for dear life and won another ring a few years later only because of the talent and system Jimmy built. After that, it collapsed hard. 26 years of not even one single NFC championship game. Tampa has been to 3 and now has 2 Super Bowls. Another team who had zero now getting one and we can't even make one single NFC title game.

Jerry and this front office are pathetic. And yes, that includes the almighty Will McClay.

Which doesn't help your case even a little bit lmao.

I'm not sure what case you're talking about. But I do know people keep bringing up contracts that started pre 2011. I don't care what they were being paid back then, it was a totally different system than we have today. And I don't even see anything that bad about the cap hits you listed.

So many narratives busted tonight

QB % of salary cap
Can't pay a QB who struggles when OTs are out
"The biggest stage" small sample size BS
The true narrative is don't over pay a QB, 25 million for Brady talent is max unless you have Mahomes talent. Didn't watch the game did you. if you did you missed a lot.

I appreciate you looking into it for me. It adds perspective.

Ahh, so the sole requirement for getting to the Super Bowl is a stud TE …

Obviously there is no one formula for being a contending team.

How did the Te core play out Rogers? Was it the 9-10 tds you projected or the 3-4 tds against losing teams that I projected as always. Lol. Sorriest Red zone offense in the NFL for years. You're in denial. Based upon the number of passing snaps they play they were a Losing Formula once again. Name me one Superbowl winner in the last 2 years without a great te? Lol.
Both teams had a stud and the best Te got 2 of the winning Tds in the Game!!

We had a steak at wr 1,2,3 and a top rb and our offense still couldn't score in the red zone and it's all their fault I guess? These Tes ain't squat. When we had a shot to win games they folded because they can't get open when it matters. They carried us straight to the Losers bracket as always

In the NFC championship the Packer's TE's had 50 yards and 1 TD, and the Bucs TEs had 48 yards and 1 TD …. so how exactly was the TE position the difference.

In the Super Bowl The Chiefs had the best TE in the NFL, and didn't win.

To say winning is all on one position, and that there is only one way to build a Super Bowl team is just misguided. Obviously a strong TE can help, as can a strong defense, and strong QB and strong skill players …. the key is the best overall combination of things, not one position.
