I did this simulation through Pro Football Network.

Farley was taken ahead of us at 9. Jax sent me a trade offer that is an exact match on the trade chart:

Picks 25 & 33 for 10. They moved up for Kyle Pitts

25-Bolton LB Missouri (here is our instinctive, tackling machine, Mike LB)
33-Grant FS UCF (Moehrig was gone, fills a huge need)
44-McNeil NT NC State (the ideal fit for our 1T, didn't want to risk losing him)
75-Stokes CB Georgia (I think the CB's will stretch, here is our speed outside guy)
99-Turner DE Houston (one of those tweener who can play multiple positions)
115-Christensen T BYU (our developmental Tackle, with position flex)
138-Wade CB Ohio State (this late, worth a flyer, especially as a nickel corner)

Home run draft. Turner is a guy Id like people to start looking at in that comp 3rd/4th round spots.

Mentioned Wade just now in your CB thread as a guy dropping so much he is becoming underrated.

As much as I would worry that trading down to 25 is too low if I could end with that actual draft I’d be ok with it

I would ask for another pick from jags perhaps 4 or 5 td to throw into the deal because they are getting an elite player and I’m taking all the risk

33 is like another 1st rd pick. The trade down was to make sure we got one of the safeties

I wouldn't be too stoked about spending another first on a linebacker. (I'm afraid we might do it with Collins, though.) But being able to get the 33rd pick to grab Grant and using the 44th on McNeil helps mitigate that.

Unless we fill the need in FA, I'd rather use that first pick on a corner instead of waiting until the third to take one when we need a surefire starter. However, I have no idea what corners were available when you picked. If Horn was available, then give me him, Grant and McNeil and we've filled three major holes in this defense.

Not saying Bolton would be a bad pick. I'm just hesitant to go with a linebacker in the first unless he's clearly better than other players available. I'd prefer to see what LVE and Jaylon can do with a better line in front of them and try to find our third LB later in the draft.

That's a very realistic trade.....exact 100% match value wise.
I'd probably prefer to drop down less than that---say Washinton or Chicago---but the value is a match (1300 to 1300 on the old chart)

fwiw, it'd be tempting to just take Pitts at 10. Dude is a monster

I would only consider taking a first rd linebacker if we are able to pick up an additional pick. Think the corner position has a lot of depth, 44 might be a sweet spot to land one of those 2nd tier players, that would start day 1: Melifonwu, Newsome (Great Cover 3 Fits). I didn't go that direction cause McNeil was rated 51th and was worried he would be gone at 75. Stokes, Adebo and Joseph were all available at 75. Stokes was the highest rated at 62 overall.

My intention of this mock was to be able to land either of the top two safeties.

I wanted to use a realistic scenario. It is quite possible Jax would want the local guy to team up with Lawrence. The trade nets us our Safety at the top of rd 2 and at 25, we take the best player available.

If they take Bolton Jaylon is history. Love it!

Oh yeah
Lawrence and Pitts would be a devastating combo

I'm not opposed to that big of a trade down. Some good targets will go around there--Bolton, Moehrig, Collins, Jenkins (OT), Horn, Barmore. But they key is whether you can get that early second round pick, like in this draft, in addition to the late 1. Wouldn't trade that far if all we're getting is a late second.

Getting Bolton, Grant, and McNeil is pretty damn good to me

Yes, both the Jets and Jax have multiple 1st round picks, where their 2nd rd pick is at the top of the rd. That early 2nd rd pick would be perfect to fill the safety need.

If Pitts is as special as everyone thinks, then Bolton and Grant still don’t equal the player. And to take it a step further, Pitts could be a top 5 player on our board. To pass on that kind of player we would have to be offered an additional 1 st round pick.

The LB from Tulsa would be on our radar at that spot—if he lasts that long.

Wade as our second CB pick would be money. A ball hawk who can play multiple roles is a great addition.

I think he would be more of a slot only player, but that is fine if he is good there.

That's a good draft. I really want to improve our defense but I'm leaning towards taking an OT higher.
