Not sure what goal post is being shifted here. He's right - Dak isn't going to carry a subpar roster and he never has carried a subpar roster ever. His career to this date has been one blessed with a decent offensive line, decent running game and decent receivers.

But, but, but Dak is better than Manning. He almost beat him in passing yards. He lost most of those games, but man, he sure racked up them stats. Dak is even better than Aikman from what I read here. And now, poor Dak has a broken wheel, so pay him whatever he and Tad agree on.

So all of the 27 losses Dak has been a part of has been on the defense? Never mind in those games Dak threw 30TD's and 29 INT's....never mind Dak's Completion % was almost 7-1/2% lower...never mind Dak's Yards Per Attempt average was 1-1/2 yards lower...never mind Dak's QB rate was over 30 points lower....... but it was all the defenses fault.

Manning played in ONE AFC championship game prior to his 2006 Super Bowl season in 2003 and he lost. Prior to the Super Bowl win he had exactly ONE wildcard win and a loss in the divisional round. That took Manning So Manning made it to a AFC championship game in his 6th season. Ya he just did so much more than Prescott in his first 5 seasons except losing losing his only playoff appearance in a wildcard game in 2002. Now latter he did do more and did win a second Super Bowl but he didn't out play Prescott in his first 5 seasons.

My position is if we pay him or lose him it’s no skin off my back. I did this in another thread but I could make a pro and con list pretty easily off the top of my head for Dak. Both make sense to me. Both arguments have real facts to support them. While I like attributes he brings I also don’t like being held hostage by a contract, simple as that.

Peyton Manning was drafted #1 overall to a very bad team whereas Dak stepped into a team set at the OL, WR, TE, and RB position not to mention a good defense.

That said, Peyton Manning had a losing season (3-13) his rookie season and in his 4th season (6-10). Beyond that, Manning's career record outside of those 2 seasons is -177-56....so mentioning Dak in the same sentence as Manning is insanity.
