Best available at 10?

4 QB's (many insiders are projecting 4 QB's taken within the top 10)
3 WR's (Chase, Smith, Waddle)
1 TE (Pitts)
1 OT (Sewell)

That leaves 1 more spot: Slater, Farley/Surtain, Parsons
I think at least one of the OTs will be selected ahead of us. 50/50 that the other will be there at #10. If the grade is there, I’m taking the OT at #10. Caveat: If the team thinks Pitts is the next Tony Gonzales I’m ok with that as well.

I’m not reaching for a defender at #10. I am sort of hoping for a kings ransom trade back, five spots or less. Then maybe another trade back to about 18-20. Then I’m giving a defender a really hard look after that second trade back.

Please not Parsons
which position is more critical to team success offensive line ot Linebacker?

I don’t know about that. At this point quality is better than quantity.

I think if we move back five or six spots we still could land a Parsons or Horn. If we move back to the early 20’s Moerhig or Barmore could be in play. I don’t think there’s much of a difference in talent from 10-20. Picking up an extra second or two would be huge for a team with so many needs. Just my two cents.

Darrisaw is one to watch. I don't think the Cowboys would take him, but he could be a top 10 player.

Sadly, I expect one of the WRs to drop. Don't see 3 going top 9. Surely looks like CB for the Cowboys. I wouldn't totally discount Horn.

I think Smith is the most likely to drop out of the receivers. Darrisaw is a hard player to project, haven't seen anyone have him rated as high as Sewell or Slater.

Multiple trade backs is highly unlikely in this year's class where may players will have similar grades.

Exactly..........don't get cute. Stay home and made the damn pick. In other words, I'm NOT trading down, especially with four additional comps in my pocket.
Take the best player available in rd 1. I'm all for trading up from 44 to land us a safety.

The 5th quarterback especially if it’s Lance. I bet the Patriots would want him. His pro day is today.

Good luck to the team that drafts him, but he's not even close to an NFL quarterback. I highly doubt Belichick would waste a first round pick on him.

Did you see his pro day? He is probably the most naturally talented quarterback in the draft. He will be a top 10 pick no doubt. Let’s put it this way, he is more talented then Daniel Jones and he went pick 6. Belichick just gave Cam 14 million for one season. Who do you think he wants his backup to be. Get a clue brother, you don’t bring back Cam for one season to draft Matt Jones.

Unsure of talent drop off after Sewell and Slater as the OTs but whatever draft day maneuvering is needed, my choice is one of them.
The Dallas Cowboy history of injury with surgery and return to peak condition is not something I cross my fingers and hope that everything will be different this year.
If you ain't got OTs, your offense ain't squat. Especially a LT these days.

I don’t see any purpose to trade down when we already have a ton of picks.
If you can get one of the top talents in the draft (and one of them should be there at 10) then I’d take them as I think there is a drop off in talent into the teens. Rather have a few top players than tons of meh players

I don't care if the guy goes top ten, I just didn't think Belichick would be that stupid. He doesn't usually do stupid things. Do you think I care how physically talented Lance is? If that mattered for a quarterback then JaMarcus Russell would be in the hall of fame. Lance sucks. He's a first read quarterback that takes off if it's not there. Or moves to create a busted play. That's literally what he does on every pass play. And that's when it's not a designed run play. That crap works in high school and college, not the NFL. Ask Johnny Manziel. He was an absolute phenom doing exactly what I said exclusively.

Look at any tapes of Lance. First read/run/move from pocket. He does not go through progressions, ever.

I totally disagree with every thing you just said. Your Manziel comparison makes no sense. No quarterback comes in the league the perfect prospect. You have to let them develop. Lamar, Dak, and Josh say hi. Those three are now top 10 quarterbacks in the league. Lance has more arm talent then Dak and Lamar. His arm is probably as good as Allen. Belichick has been awful at drafting. He was lucky to get Brady. We will see what happens on draft night.

Hey, in spirit I'm not going to disagree with you here. You just don't know in a lot of cases. I don't know how these QBs will develop. I didn't look at tape of Lamar, Dak, and Josh. Were they one read QBs in college? I can look at Mac Jones and say he's not a one read QB. If I'm a GM I go for him over Lance. In 2016 when Dak started for the Cowboys he went through progressions. Anyone can clearly see that. His first response wasn't to tuck and run. He was and is a pocket passer.

I also don't know why the Manziel comparison makes no sense. Because he didn't succeed in the NFL? That's called hindsight. But Lance and fields are perfect examples of Manziel. They have the exact same game. What they do in the NFL remains to be seen.

Something you have to consider. Slater could be considered the top offensive tackle prospect. He would be a steal at 10. Farley, Surtain, and Parsons have players who have similar value like Horne, Newsome, Zavin Collins and JOK so a trade down into the teens would be a good idea.
I have Slater ranked above Sewell although Sewell has the higher potential but its just potential

I like you brother. Let’s be happy that Cowboys don’t have to draft a quarterback at 10. Let’s hope one of these guys fall to 10 and we can rip a team off. I am not trading the pick unless you offer me next years first along with a second and third this season. Hopefully the Joneses can be that shrewd. I have my doubts.:rolleyes:
