I just read what the competition committee and some of the teams proposals to the NFL rules and I hope none of them are adopted. Every year there are changes proposed that are knee jerk reactions to a single play that happened the year before. There's one change that is probably because of the on side kick the Cowboys did last season. Remember the kickoff team used to be able to lineup several yards behind the 30 yard line and get a running start. Then they changed it that they all have to be on the 30 yard line. Now the change is to have the kicking team lineup 1 yard behind the 30 or on the 29 yard line. and both feet have to remain on the ground until the ball is kicked. I can't think of a single rule change in a very long time that has actually made the game better.
