I knew that was an Ed Wood movie, but I am not really old old just somewhat old. Didn't Johnny Depp do a movie about his life?

That movie was a little before my time, but remember watching it in the early 70's late night TV. But do not remember too much about it now.
Just that is is considered one of the worse movies of all time.
Not sure about Johnny Depp.

I hope they're right. I want to see this team succeed. It's not how I would have done it. I would not have paid Dak so much. I would have let him walk and then would have signed Dalton for much cheaper. Then I would draft a QB and have much more money left to be aggressive in free agency, going after Ndamukong Suh.

My reasons for this would be that it's of paramount importance to have a great defense to win a championship. I have my doubts that they can do that with their approach, which is highly paid QB + bargain free agents + a good draft. My formula would have been: competent veteran QB (Dalton) + aggressive free agency for defensive players + a good draft that includes a quarterback.

Before any of you go off on me, I'm, fully aware that my plan would not be guaranteed to work. However, nothing in the NFL is guaranteed to work, including the approach that this team is taking. I honestly hope they end up being right and proving it via a Super Bowl championship.

They’ve “liked it” for the last 25 years and we’ve hated it, so we may have just a tad more credibility than those “experts”

Edit; in this case I use the term “ hate” in its true and proper context

Don't you love it when anybody has the nerve to get arrogant regarding anything about this team?

It's like they've missed the last 25 years.

I don't like paying a ton for Dak at QB either, but Dalton has stunk (and lost) in every playoff game he's ever had despite having a top 10 scoring defense to back him up.

Suh is 34 years old, and the only good QB the Cowboys have drafted since Aikman is Prescott - which only happened after they failed on trade attempts for Paxton Lynch and Connor Cook.

The best chance they have - and it isn't much because they're not good at building a team - was keeping Dak and hoping to get lucky. They would've bleeped-up any attempt to intentionally target a QB in the draft.

I can see both sides, and I honestly hope the keeping Dak via the big bucks strategy works. I just won't be betting my life savings on it in Vegas. I would have only used Dalton as a stop-gap, and some of that money saved I might use strengthening the O-line, both in starters and in depth. Dalton could not help the team win if his protection caves in. If not Dalton, then maybe there's another stop-gap QB like Alex Smith that could be signed. It is possible to draft a good QB. The Giants did it in Eli Manning. The Colts did it both with Payton Manning and Andrew Luck. It can be done.

As it is now, I feel like they have to have a rabbit-out-of-the-hat draft to shore up this defense.

I’ll say this....our free agency sucked last year and I had more confidence in that group than I do this one.

The thing is that we can bicker and debate about the worth of players and their performance but I believe that we can all unite on the FO’s ineptitude at Free agency and managerial decisions.

I’m starting to think that even the United States Post Office is more efficient to these bung holes.....and that’s saying a lot............like you said, the last 25 years must clearly be someone else’s fault. If they had a board of directors to answer to it would be a bloodbath
