The video of d Smith cooking Horn is concerning

Yeah, once a guy kind of has it figured out, then it all becomes easier for them. IMO Horn now better understands the kind of style that he needs to play.

‘And for me personally, I like that kind of CB play... and receivers hate it.
Really think Surtain/Horn's tags are touching. Happy with either player. Kind of like that swagger Horn plays with, it something this defense needs.

Hey man, I highly recommend watching this video by Brett Kollmann on Horn. Not only is Kollmann maybe the best guy breaking things down on YouTube... but this video exactly addresses your concerns about what happened to Horn against Alabama in his sophomore season. It is an excellent watch on Horn and his pro potential.

Just start the video at 1:35 to skip the paid promotion part of it.

Again, I can’t recommend it enough. Kollmann does great work.

I also suggest watching the first min. or so to hear a list of guys that Horn has covered in his career at S Carolina. So I guess watch it all, haha.

great video
I’ve been against Horn at 10 but this gives me a little more comfort

Lack of fluidity and quick hips. This is why he’s a 1st rounder, and not a top 10 pick for me.

A top 10 CB would been much more competitive against Alabama.
That Alabama game was in 2019, his sophomore season. He changed things up for his Junior year and played much better.

I agree that Horn in 2019 wasn’t playing like a top 10 pick.

Really would of liked to see both Surtain/Horn run those agility tests, but after they has strong 40 times, made little sense to hurt their stocks.

My issues with Horn and Surtain have nothing to do with technique. I don’t think they’re top 10 caliber athletes to take a CB that high.

They are both going to have a really hard time with quick route runners at the next level.

A healthy Farley would have both Surtain and Horn behind him.
But...he ain't healthy. Sat out a whole year and instead of getting his back fixed he waits poor judgment on him and whoever was advising him.

Agree times 10...the fact they didn’t do the 3 cone or short shuttle heightened my concern that they might be linear athletes.

Very fair assessment, one of the reasons why I like Farley the most pre-injury. He was by far the best athlete of the group, but was more of a projection. Had those elite traits.

The cover 3 scheme is going to help them as they will be able to get their hands on these receivers to disrupt them. It will come down to if we can generate enough quick pressure up front.

Agree again...what made Farley special is he was 6’2 but had the hips of a 5’10 CB. Add in the 4.3 speed and that’s why I had him WELL above Surtain/Horn.

His injury concerns are a dagger bc he would’ve been a good target at 10a

Horn gave up 3 TDs and had 5 penalties in just 7 games last year, or is this when we trot out the “but he didn’t have the same surrounding talent as Surtain” excuse.

Never said anything about surtain. This is about horn 2019 vs horn 2020..you can find somebody else to argue horn vs surtain with

And if that’s the case if adds to my argument that we shouldn’t take either at 10. If we’re asking our CBS to jam and just play zone let’s take one a round or 2 later.

Revis wasn’t the quickest. He had great technique and was strong. He also got away with holding. He ran 4.5 flat at the combine (4.39 pro day) it showed. That’s why he had to play tight every play. He still had a hall of fame careers because he played to his strengths.

Farley did need the most development, but had the most upside. I think would consider Farley if they don't take a corner at 10 in rd 2, if he lasted that long.

I’d trade back into the 1st for fairley. We may take a lineman. If so, would we still need Tyron or l Collins?

Revis had a 6.56 3 cone at his pro day...that is beyond elite for short area quickness. Add on .2 seconds for it being a pro day time and it’s still elite.
