Moehrig To Cowboys: 'More Than A Safety' - NFL Draft Trade-Up Target?

Dallas has massive needs on the DL, CB, OL and S. I think they also need a LB. The best strategy to fill all of those needs is to trade back to about 20 and use your stockpile to trade up for five top 100 guys for those roles. Sewell falling to 10 is the only thing I would hesitate on.
Just one mans opinion, but I like guys all over that top 100 for each of those positions.

Quality over quantity..all those needs aren't getting filled no matter who you draft or how many picks you have

There's two positions it will be a crying shame if we don't address early in this draft, S and 1 tech DT. We have a chance to shore up the two positions that have been a thorn in our side for decades. We're utterly stupid if we waste this draft on WRs, TEs, and pretty much any other position.

You don't have to give up huge draft capital to get him..you just get to watch him give up huge plays instead...lol..guy is ball hawk..but he doesn't cover anyone..

Any support for that claim?

I'm moving up for Moehrig. He isn't getting to 44..trade back from 10? If I trade back from 10, I'm open to jok but my my top choice. I probably go for Farley..then I move up for Moehrig
Trade back or trade up, either works.

Serious question..may sound like a jerk but im not trying to be..have you watched him play or read up on him much? That's the concern that just about every report on him I've seen has..he doesn't cover his assignments..he basically runs around Willie nillie looking to steal the ball away. And he does that a ton..but he gives up a ton as well

I am quite comfortable passing on the 2 corners, as we will still get a good corner in rd 2 that even can start day 1. Stokes, Meli, Joseph.

I’m not. I prefer to get my safety later.

I have. More recently, and that’s why he’s risen up in my own rankings.

And no offense taken thanks for clarifying that. I’m always receptive to differing opinions with support and respect.

I mean the guy has ridiculous balls skills..I think it's like 13 or 14 takeaways in 24 games or something..but every report I've seen is that nobody wants any part of him..he is supposed to be ridiculously athletic too..tore his acl so he wasn't able to test..but he's a 4.3 speed type of guy w great size

Actually I saw one guy that loved him now that I remember..Chris Simms loves him..he's his #1 safety

Cisco may be the perfect example of how crazy this draft is going to be...as far as surprises.

I can 100% seeing a team love his game and taking taking him as high as the late first.

He’s mine too. If not for the injury, I think he’s a 1st round guy, possibly top of his class. And I think the Cowboys with Kazee on a one year deal are in the right position to draft him and not have to rush him out there.

Again, just my opinion.

Moehrig is at 23 on the Athletic's consensus big board. Packaging 44 and 75 can maybe get you as high as 27. If he slips to the end of the round, you could consider it, but he does have to slip. If he slips into the second, you could get there with 44 + 99.

Not a big fan of either trade, though.

Would you rather take Moehrig or Jamin Davis with our second pick (regardless whether it’s at 44 or we move up, which we almost certainly would have to do)? That would be a very tough decision for me, but it would be a win-win either way.

I agree 100%, but we also have to address LB and CB with premium picks.
