Here we are, Dallas, once again, surprises their minion fans with a head scrather.

Cowboys love to walk down the draft shopping aisle for damaged merchandise.
Jaylon Smith, Vander Esh, Tristan Hill(off field issues), Taco Charlton(off field issues) and now we add yet another damaged issue player. That could be a bargain, but why with your 1st pick?

Is Parsons a "good" pick? Time will tell. But once again, this franchise forgets what made the Cowboys the ----Team of the 90s. THE OFFENSIVE LINE !

Did I want a CB(Horn/Surtain) YES, but they were gone. So Slater was sitting there. Grab him to improve that OL that is "damaged". ***What good is offensive weapons when your QB is laying on his back, RB can't run through OL holes because there aren't any & WRs don't have time to run their routes. What does Dallas do? There CBs are gone so let's go shopping down the damaged aisle again. Does Dallas need LB help? yes ! But this franchise used their 2018 1st rd pick on LVE who had neck issues and several teams didn't have LVE on their board. Stayed away, but not the Cowboys. So now Dallas has to use another 1st rd pick to cover up their issue at LB because LVE can't stay on the field. Jaylon Smith has regressed and Sean Lee retired and we all know his health issues.

1st rd picks have to be STUDS(anchors) ~ ESPECIALLY Top 10 pick guys. Players that should be with your team for a decade+. Will Zeke be w/ Dallas 10+ yrs? He sure is regressing like J Smith.

Tyron Smith was a great Top 10 pick. Has been a decade long player. Sure his health is failing him but has been on that OL for quite awhile and had your future OT sitting in front of you with Slater. He wouldn't be a jersey seller, but would rebuild that weakened OL that is needed to protect your massive investment at QB.

Hey I would have preferred we take Slater but hard to be upset with getting the guy many to believe is hands down the best defensive player in the draft.

And if you’re talking history let’s not forget the feared doomsday defense! We won Super Bowls with elite defenses and play makers on that side of the ball. And who’s to say we won’t still add depth and future starters to the offensive line? The draft is far from over and the Cowboys have plenty of ammo.

How is taking the best defensive player a head scratcher?!

Did you watch this team last year?

We did everything we could not to draft Slater. The Tackles are healthy now and I’m sure Philbin had a lot of pull in all of this.

Yeah, they’re always “healthy” when there’s no football to be played. Then the season starts...

I don’t disagree. Collins has been healthy the majority of his tenure. Tyron not so much. We just have bigger fish to fry.

I would be applauding the pick but who is to say Parson is the BEST defensive player? I never said the pick was a bust. Nor did I say it was a bad pick. I stated it was a scratch and dent pick. Could be a great pick but also a bad one. Yes, you can say that about every single player drafted but Dallas seems to take chances: IE: HIGH risk, and HIGH REWARD. No problem in later rounds but the 1st round pick needs to be as close to a rock solid as you can get.

And I agree the DOOMSDAY D was great. Miss those days. But what made that D great? The DL of Too Tall, Randy White, Harvey Martin and John Dutton. What made the Dallas team of the 90s great: the OL. Build your team IN THE TRENCHES. Jerry builds his team with glamour: Guys that will bring fans to the stadium, sells jerseys and get the media talking about the team.

Yeah, but apparently 13 games a season is now acceptable to some fans. Just lower that bar. Again and again and again. Until they meet expectations.
