I watched that detroit game not too long ago, and dallas got out coached and out played. Detroit played great, had good game plan, then
the next week they went back to being normal detroit.
If Dallas could have avoided that game, they might have done something.
Thats why next season jimmy and team were intent on being a top seed, week off and only 2 games to play and play at home.
That game was in detroit I think.
Also that dallas defense just wasnt good enough yet to get them thru a game like that detroit game.
IMO, they were not. the 91 Commanders are one of maybe the 5 greatest teams ever. They were good at everything. They had an amazing home field setting, a great defense and a fantastic offense. The 91 team was better than 87.
those games are all out there on youtube and stuff. Go watch those seasons..90, 91, 92. Every nfc east game is like a playoff game. It was awesome.
The SB 25 , if that was Buffalo Giants, that was one of the best SB's ever, it was amazing to me and got me to start analyzing games as to whyHad simms not been hurt vs buffalo they may havegone 15-1 and been even better in the playoffs. That was a great team. The injury forced them to alter how they played a little and maybe that was the magic they needed because they beat two amazing teams and two of the most amazing offenses ever.
Can not put into words how big of a win that upset was at candlestick in the championship game. What Parcells and Bellichick came up with to beat those two offenses is truly remarkable. I Believe Bellichick's gameplan for SB 25 is in the hall of fame.
I would too, but I think he's saying they had to win a Super Bowl
LOL I lived it. If you the think the '91 team was better than the '87 team then you must also believe they're better than the '86 Giants. Because that '87 Commanders team was almost a carbon copy. Not quite as good defensively, but slightly better offensively than the '86 Giants.
But I do remember how good that '91 Commanders team was. Reminds me a little of the '98 Broncos. So you might be right. I sometimes let nostalgia take over.

The SB 25 , if that was Buffalo Giants, that was one of the best SB's ever, it was amazing to me and got me to start analyzing games as to why
one team wins a close game.
I recorded it on vhs, and watched it once a year .
The last giants drive took over 10 minutes, and they scored a TD, and left little time on the clock for Buffalo.
That drive was also amazing, player after player making great plays just to get a first down ! Sometimes they had to go on 4th down.
and they would get it by inches or just a yard. Those players had heart and really gave their all on that drive.
It was a tense game to watch.
The dallas SB's are not that exciting, as they just blew buffalo out, only the first qtr was tense lol.

I think the MVP of that game should have been that Giants WR that fought for that first down before the first half ended. I forget who it was. But that was the turning point IMO. That was an amazing individual effort that put the Giants back in it. Because I think they ended up scoring before the half ended.
probably lose, maybe close game.I still would love to know what would happen had Dallas got a shot at that 91 Commanders team
Give me a break dude. You belittled the 92 Cowboys with your “they would not smash the Giants or Commanders”. You obviously never watched the 92 Cowboys or you wouldn’t say the crap you’re saying.I never said the cowboys would lose i just said they would not smash the giants or Commanders i think it is an interesting convo to have and discuss those teams were also very talented and i think it is a mistake to just dismiss them and no i do not smoke LOL
all the cowboys SB's were kinda boring when they won, except the last one with pittsburgh.I think the MVP of that game should have been that Giants WR that fought for that first down before the first half ended. Just want to add one thing. To me, a good Cowboys SB is when they blow out a team. I don't want to be sitting on the edge of my seat. But that's only with the Cowboys.
probably lose, maybe close game.
Dallas beat them earlier by out scoring them, and gambling on 4th down etc.
With a rusty Aikman, or Buerlein, I dont think they could keep up with Commanders in scoring. and like you said their defense wasnt
quite good enough yet.
you know that is another thing people forget, is when jimmy came to dallas, the Nfce was a powerful division, Commanders, giants, eagles
were all good, and skins were winning SB's , Giants were a SB team in decline but still good..
Jimmy had to build a team good enough to contend with the divisional opponents. And then teams like SF too. Not a easy task.
He wound up then having a dominant team in that tough div, which meant not many other teams could contend with cowboys.
Only SF was at the Dallas level.
That was Mark Ingram. That is one of those amazing plays from that game. The Bill have so many what if's from that game. That 90 Giants team had the magic.
I wouldn't argue with you about it either. That team was really good. But they were the 2nd best team in the NFC. They needed a miracle to beat the 49ers and they got it.
all the cowboys SB's were kinda boring when they won, except the last one with pittsburgh.
all the rest they dominated. The SB's they lost however were exciting games ! lol
here are the giants wr, probably mark ingram or manuel? They fought hard all game lol plays like that is what caught my attention.
Wide receivers
- 85 Stephen Baker
- 82 Mark Ingram
- 84 Troy Kyles
- 86 Lionel Manuel
- 81 Stacy Robinson
- 83 Odessa Turner
It's funny you mention the magic. Because that's the best way to describe it. DanyDon somewhat referred to it. They needed the magic to get past the 49ers. They needed it throughout the SB and they needed it on that last wide right FG.
All the teams back then were far superior to the teams today.90's Eagle teams were better than the 2017 Eagles team.
