So the "dress rehearsal" is against arguably the worst team in the league? Let the hype train begin....

Actually the real ‘dress rehearsal, is the game before. Teams have a hard time fielding 30 players for that last pre-season game.

Unfortunately, Trevor Lawrence probably won’t be playing that game. I also doubt the Jaguars are the worst team.

I don't care what anyone says, I missed preseason last year.

absolutly....preseason is one of those things that you miss it until you get it, then you get a quarter in and remember how boring it is and how far the season still is....however, it is still much better than nothing

Looking at the Cowboys' preseason opponents reminds me of how quickly and ever-changing the NFL head coaching position can be.
Mike Tomlin - beginning his 15th season over the Steelers
Kliff Kingsbury - starting his 3rd season with the Cardinals
Mike McCarthy - in his 2nd season at the Cowboys
David Culley - rookie Head Coach of the Texans
Urban Meyer - rookie Head Coach of the Jaguars

No, it is not. It's pretend games that I cannot pretend to like and I do not think them necessary but some find them entertaining and they're not replacing anything of substance so have at it.

I have never agreed that preseason games win jobs. Coaches like control situations for assessment and they get that at camp and practice. Bubble players go against other bubble players in pretend games so what do the coaches learn from that?

That said, and my annual I HATE PRESEASON GAMES rant over, and it was a short rant, we are chomping at the bit to see the new guys on the field and get our first look at the D, which will not be the D because he's not playing O's that will be the O's but the D nonetheless.

Best of all, it gives us something with a little more fiber to discuss like Dak looked fat, Zeke looked fat when in reality, McC and the son are fat. Zeke is twiggy next to McC. I wonder which Cheerleaders might be pushing the voluptuous thing a little too far this year?

Do y'all think we need a Weight Watchers thread? A Zone is too much but keeping track of the rotund might be of value in a thread. I mean we're spreading the fat among many threads now.

BTW, just because I said the rant was over doesn't meant I do not reserve the right to re-rant at a future date. Should a Rant-A-Rama break out, I want to join in.

It isnt boring if you look at them the right way.
it is a chance to see the new guys and guys trying to make a team, and you wont see them during the regular season, except for a few.
We get a first look at parsons joseph and the other draft picks.

It is not about winning the game, although it is fun if they do.
