I was thinking the same thing that it can be easily verified by tape.

Teams usually change signals every week. I don't believe they re-use the same signals. They may use them as false signals though to trick the defense.

Larry Bird would tell the opposing players exactly what they were going to do and then said there nothing you can do about it. He once told a Hawks player the play coming out of a timeout for the last shot. Basically told him I am coming to the top of the key and bury the shot so just stand here at the top of the key.
