How good was Parson?

I wanna know where everyone that hated this pick is at. Dude played good OUT OF POSITION. So proud of this dude, and he’s only in his rookie season.
People who hated the pick thought he was going to be Jaylon Smith or a middle linebacker (the running backs of the defense). If he was a pass rusher at Penn State he would have been a top 5 pick in the draft. I give Quinn all the credit for this one, he had him rushing the passer during training camp.

Parsons looks to be a stud.

Glad we got him in the draft!

We do seem to be really fortunate when we don’t get our choice in the first round. We got Zack Martin, Fredbeard, and even Dak that way. Apparently we should always hope to be just 2 spots away from getting our guy.

Considering he's a 1st round pick, he did well.

Considering he's was pressed to play a position he doesn't play and learn that this past week, he was outstanding.

If Parsons keeps this up, Booger is going to want the radio station to destroy the tape of his son saying they would have taken the CB's.
I know that was spoken, but I don’t believe that was ever actually the case. I think that was said just in case that Surtain and Horne did well, they could say, well we wanted them (and look smart about it).

That was what I thought at the time as well because Booger was pretty adamant with the reporter and even invited him to come look at the board as proof. And we'll never know because both the father and the son lie.

To put things in perspective...I saw what Chase Young did against the Chargers........and saw what Parsons did....he looked like a elite pass rusher and much better than Young. I guess there's some injury issues with personnel for the Chargers at tackle but backup or not that was impressive.

it was. but it also wasn't against slater, which accounts for a BIG difference. still love to see it and extremely impressed.

I thought it was Parsons or Slater all along.

This is true but I can only judge him based on what he showed and even a backup T.....I expected to dominate Parsons.....Just using logic I just saw no reason for him to have success but I Was wrong there.

Dude is freak athlete and if we were to switch to a 3/4 base D, he would be the next Von Miller. Which is the only reason I questioned the pick when we made it. I didn't know exactly how he would fit the scheme. I'd say he's fitting in just fine.

We could have a pretty good base 3/4 with these guys.

Parsons, Gregory, Anae, and Kumara as your OLB's
D-Law, Urban, Basham and Armstrong as your DE's
Odigi, Gallimore, Bohanna and Watkins as the DT's
LVE, Neal, Cox and Gifford as the MLB's
I guess Smith can be at either LB spot, or none.

Our DE's would be considered "light" but we could probably rotate Galli, Odigi and Watkins in to DE in certain situations and/or run downs.

Ask the Charger blocking him during the game. He kept asking Parsons "Hey, where's Randy? Where's Demarcus? They're coming in soon, aren't they? Don't you like playing LB better?"
All the while holding him in almost every play . ( may be whisper in ear  )

I'm trying to contain my excitement for this kid........but it's hard, real hard (lol). Damn.....we may have hit the jackpot here

Hate to be that “guy” but that OT was a scrub backup at best and there wasn’t any tape on Parsons as a rusher. If he does half that next week vs Lane Johnson after having a week to study his tendencies then I’ll get excited!

Lane Johnson can't block him either.
