There needs to be a ban on Tony Romo suggesting that Kellen Moore will be a head coach next season. Are we not allowed to have talent on our coaching staff without it being ripped away from us? At the very least, we should appreciate Moore while he is here.

Kellen Moore recognized the Chargers’ inability to stop the run, and he trusted the offensive line to push Los Angeles around. Running behind Zack Martin, who didn’t miss a beat, the Cowboys finished with 198 rushing yards on 31 attempts. Even CeeDee Lamb lined up as a running back. Moore is able to exploit the weaknesses of a defense as well as any other coach in the NFL.

How do the Cowboys move down the field so masterfully? You can’t be stopped on third down if you never see third down. Dallas currently lands as the fifth-best team by percentage of offensive plays that occur during third down.

Even when the Cowboys face third down, they have the third-best conversion rate. The result is a team that has seen the most first downs in the NFL, which is impressive considering they are the third most penalized team on offense.

The one aspect of Dallas’ offense that needs to improve is red-zone efficiency. Scoring a touchdown on just 42.9% of their trips inside the opponents’ 20-yard line is well below the league average. If that singular statistic improves, this offense could average over 30 points a game.

The Cowboys have only punted four times through two games. That should tell you all you need to know about Kellen Moore. He is turning into an offensive mastermind, able to change the game plan week-to-week to dominate the defense he faces. Please don't ever leave us, Kellen Moore.

He's growing up before our eyes. I'm sure MM has had an influence. Not taking any credit from Moore, but have a HC with his offensive experience is a big help.

As Moore said he has been able to take away many things from several coaches when he was in Det. things from Garrett and McCarthy and even mentioned things he gets from Quinn.

Didn’t you defend Garrett’s offenses?

Now you like coaches that actually scheme and look for matchups?

He's looking good so far, and with the cards he's holding I can't see why he wouldn't continue to play a good game. Jerry will have to go all in on Kellen after the super bowl. Staff credit in my opinion will go to Moore and Quinn.

I have both supported and have been critical of Garrett. I think he was able to put together some good season, one of his best was 2016 with pro bowl vet QB going down and forced to play a rookie QB and lead to a pretty successful season. I have also said under Garrett this team always tended to take 1 step forward and 2 steps back. Garrett could never build off the past season success be it 2014 season then in 2016 season. Lastly I was not upset with him being fired, he was given ample opportunity to get the job done and yet was never able to get this team over the hump.

It's hard to believe Moore is the only one constructing this game-plan when MM is around. Just because Kellen calls the plays, don't think that MM can't veto or helps make the game plan. He has the plays on a sheet during the game and is talking back and forth with Moore. But you guys want to give Moore all the credit, go ahead, because if he becomes a HC next year, he'll be the next Jason Garrett. Give the guy time to learn everything including dealing with grown rich men.

i was too hard on him when he was named oc.
i was wrong.
he's a real asset and is really coming into his own as a play-caller.
he's kickin' some serious butt right now.

In order to keep Moore, Jerry will have to eat McCarthy's contract.

Even if he does, Moore will also be expensive and make Jerry look dumb for hiring MM.

Not sure he is willing to do either.

This part of the quote is what caught my attention...I truly believe if we can cleanup these penalties, we could be unstoppable on offense. Additionally, cleanup STs and our embarrassingly inability to get off the field on 3rd and long, and I think we worked be a top 5-7 team.

this is something else mccarthy gets credit for.
the growth and development of kellen moore as a play-caller.
just another area of this team that has improved since his arrival.

Getting a bit ahead of ourselves. I hope to keep Moore but right now he has no skins on the wall, my hope is he can put some credentials up and one day have a chance at a HC job be it in Dallas or elsewhere. As for McCarthy it is job to get the Cowboys back to SB competitors and if he can do that then he will have earned the contract Jerry gave him. I have never worried about a Coordinator getting offers and in some case leaving. Be in Dan Reeve or Mike Ditka or Dave Wannstead, Butch Davis or Norv Turner. That tends to be the price you pay with success

I agree but I think it not something that happens over night it is something this team will have to work on through out the season.

So far he looks great in his playcalling this year. If he keeps it up I hope Jerry backs up a brinks truck for him to stay/kicks out MM if we don't go far in the playoffs.

During the press conference the other day reporter asked Moore about his job interview with Philadelphia this past off season, of course Moore talked about the experience of the job interview process and grateful for the chance to interview. Thankfully he did not end up in Philly. However I will say I have seen enough coordinators who have had success in the role of OC or DC who when given the chance at HC just could not do the job. Right now Moore is a young and upcoming OC who is starting to make a name for himself and I think that is great but there is so much left to accomplish and I hope he looks to get those accomplishment here in Dallas before he thinks of looking at greener pastures

Amazes me how Moore always gets the credit even when he's not responsible for it & MM is.

Moore is still improving. his scheme and play calling is good, but game management (is that the head coach responsibility? his? joint responsibility?). and his redzone play calling needs to improve. he also needs to try and not to out smart himself at times, ala Chargers game when we were driving down field. running easily. quick passes. moving the chains and he calls a college gimmiky play and kills the momentum. immediately after that play calls a 4 reciever combination but all are going mid to deep while the middle is wide open (slant). and dak got sacked and out of field goal range....he just needs to clean it up a bit. like I said. improving, but not upper echelon yet.
