Before anyone asks "Why is Dak above Rodgers???"

Because this is based on who's looking hot at the moment. While Rodgers was fantastic against the Lions (bad team) and Niners, he was awful against the Saints. Dak has not had a bad game yet. He's had 3 out of 3 very good games. That's a lot of QBs currently, I know - but people like Carr and Stafford were not in the Top 10 at the beginning of the year so they have more ground to catch up. Simple as that.

https://www.profootballnetwork.com/qb-power-rankings-2021/

1) Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Season: 2 GP | 340.0 YPG (3rd) | 76.1% (4th) | 6.4 avg CAY (T-13th) | 9.0 TD% (5th) | 1.5 INT% (15th) | 21 rush yards (16th) | 1 rush TD (T-4th)

It wasn’t perfect, but Patrick Mahomes’ onslaught of production extended into Week 2. Mahomes has tossed at least 3 scores for consecutive weeks, amassing no fewer than 337 passing yards. With the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense playing like it is, I expect there to be an abundance of spectacular performances from the league’s most talented passer.

2) Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks

Season: 2 GP | 298.5 YPG (8th) | 74.1% (5th) | 8.3 avg CAY (2nd) | 11.1 TD% (2nd) | 0.0 INT% (T-1st) | 25 rush yards (13th) | 0 rush TDs (T-13th)

Russell Wilson’s long ball continued into the second stanza of the NFL regular season. After catapulting 3 more deep throws downfield — combining for 112 air yards and 2 touchdowns — only Daniel Jones (9.2) averages more air yards per completion. Wilson’s number isn’t being called upon as much as it was in early 2020. Yet, only a few quarterbacks are playing as proficient as the Seahawks’ franchise passer.

3) Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Season: 2 GP | 327.5 YPG (5th) | 65.1% (24th) | 6.7 avg CAY (T-10th) | 10.5 TD% (3rd) | 2.3 INT% (20th) | 6 rush yards (25th) | 0 rush TDs (T-13th)

Does Tom Brady look spry or what? It’s as if he’s so accustomed to winning that he wants to share that success with as many other players as he can before retiring in 2057. Take Sunday’s game, for instance. Brady completed passes to 10 different players, garnering 5 scores on 24-of-36 passing. He’s on track for yet another Super Bowl run, and at the same time, he’s making sure the entire Tampa Bay roster gets in on the fun.

4) Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

Season: 2 GP | 320.0 YPG (6th) | 76.5% (3rd) | 4.3 avg CAY (29th) | 3.5 TD% (22nd) | 2.4 INT% (21st) | 13 rush yards (22nd) | 0 rush TDs (T-13th)

After attempting 58 passes in Week 1, Dak Prescott’s arm was given a break against the Los Angeles Chargers. After all, Big D’s stud passer just recovered from a shoulder strain mere weeks ago. Despite the reduction in pass attempts, Prescott made the most of his opportunities, completing 23-of-27 passes, concurrently securing a much-needed win in the process.

5) Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams ⇑1

Season: 2 GP | 299.5 YPG (7th) | 69.6% (14th) | 7.9 avg CAY (3rd) | 8.9 TD% (6th) | 1.8 INT% (17th) | -4 rush yards (32nd) | 0 rush TDs (T-13th)

Two games into a season under a new helmet, and Matthew Stafford looks as if he’s played for coach Sean McVay his entire career. Furthermore, Stafford is clicking with receivers Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp as the 2-0 Los Angeles Rams look to knock off the defending Super Bowl champion Bucs next weekend. If Stafford outduels Brady, expect another jump in our QB power rankings.

Another publication with Dak in the Top 5:

https://fansided.com/2021/09/28/nfl-quarterback-rankings-week-4-matthew-stafford-rams/

5 DAK PRESCOTT

QB Dallas Cowboys

https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.fansided.com%2Flogos%2Fnfl%2Fcowboys.png

2021 stats: 878 yards | 77.4 comp % | 6 TD | 2 INT | 7.9 YPA | 61.6 QBR

LW: 5

Prescott looks phenomenal thus far. He’s moving well, throwing accurately and on time, and putting some heat on the ball as well. The Cowboys need the offense to be great to contend, and so far, so good.

4 AARON RODGERS

QB Green Bay Packers

https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.fansided.com%2Flogos%2Fnfl%2Fpackers.png

2021 stats: 649 yards | 68.2 comp % | 6 TD | 2 INT | 7.4 YPA | 61.1 QBR

LW: 4

After a clunker against the Saints to open the season, Rodgers has looked great. He toyed with the Niners on Sunday night, going for 261 yards and two touchdowns. The numbers aren’t overwhelming, but his play has dramatically improved every week.

3 RUSSELL WILSON

QB Seattle Seahawks
https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.fansided.com%2Flogos%2Fnfl%2Fseahawks.png

2021 stats: 895 yards | 73.3 comp % | 7 TD | 0 INT | 10.4 YPA | 55.9 QBR

LW: 3

What else can Wilson do? Look at the numbers. He’s putting up MVP-caliber stats and it doesn’t matter because the Seahawks might have the NFL’s worst defense.

2 PATRICK MAHOMES

QB Kansas City Chiefs

https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.fansided.com%2Flogos%2Fnfl%2Fchiefs.png

2021 stats: 940 yards | 70.3 comp % | 9 TD | 3 INT | 8.5 YPA | 76.3 QBR

LW: 2

Read the paragraph on Wilson, and copy for Mahomes. Now, Mahomes has thrown three interceptions over the past two weeks, although one of them on Sunday should have been caught for a touchdown. Instead, it goes against him. Overall, he’s been terrific, but needs to curtail a few hero-ball throws.

1 TOM BRADY

QB Tampa Bay Buccaneers

https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.fansided.com%2Flogos%2Fnfl%2Fbuccaneers.png

2021 stats: 1,087 yards | 68.8 comp % | 10 TD | 2 INT | 7.7 YPA | 64.5 QBR

LW: 1

No reason to bump Brady from the top spot. Yes, the Buccaneers lost, but the 44-year-old was excellent, avoiding turnovers while throwing for 432 yards and a score, running his count to a league-best 10 touchdowns.

So it;s...

Mahomes, Dak, Rodgers, THE GOAT, Wilson now?

Which one hasn't played in a Superbowl?

So Garoppolo and Goff belong in the Top 10 based on your logic? Also Ryan and Roethlisberger are the only others who's played in a Super Bowl. And they're both starting to look washed up.

My bad I should have said....all won a Superbowl., and all are considered to be the very elite in the game today.

If the ranking is based on this year alone...no frikkin way Mahomes and Wilson are at the top. No way at all. Both their teams are 1-2 and neither is putting up high efficiency numbers. Mahomes has interception rate that disqualifies him for top 5.

Herbert significantly outplayed Mahomes on a windy field Sunday.

(Mahomes will likely end up best but no way in heck he's earned it so far)

Google Wilson numbers his 73 comp% his 133 passer rating, his 7-0 TD/INT.

And google his complete disappearance in games, and his team's games in the second half of all 3 matches. Again Seahags are 1-2 and all-kinda messed up. Meanwhile Rogers was a fraud no-show in game 1. Didn't take his responsibilities to heart to get himself ready and in-sync w/team.

Dak definitely belongs in top 3 or 4. Carr or Murray should be #1, despite what anyone says based on previous reputation.

We aren't talking historical rankings, bro. We are talking THIS YEAR.

Not For Long League, you know? At the end of the year it will be Brady, Mahomes, Wilson, Allen, Rogers...with perhaps Dak or Herbert or Carr or Murray or Stafford sneaking into the top.

RaZon, I'm not a fan of the selfish ride Rogers and Wilson took their teams on this off-season, and I loudly declared it would cost both teams.

While I sure didn't enjoy watching the contractual stuff w/the Cowboys, Dak stayed more professional, stayed a leader and stayed on point.

Brady is without parallel in getting himself ready, focusing all energies, and bringing out the best in his teammates. Mahomes, meanwhile is the creative playmaker who does things we've never seen before.

I like how people still talk about 3 games, where as if Dak had 3 bad games, it would be like "hey 3 games is enough to show that he sucks and need to just tank the season to draft a qb high next year."

This narrative is getting stale. Dak can't do it alone. Put Dak on those same teams at the time they won Superbowls and it's a different story.

Dak's become the new generation of elite/greatness in quarterbacks. Only 4 left from the older generation. Worthlisberger Wodgers, Wussell & Wrady.
