Could McCarthy be trolling the NFL?

Some of these unorthodox decisions have me thinking that McCarthy might be doing a little "crazy like a fox" dance on the NFL. Could he be making it so that the proverbial book on him in these situations starts to look like kindergarten scribble? I mean he can't be this crazy.. unless it's like a fox.. as I said..

I dont think its just McCarthy...NFL Teams across the board are going for it more and more on 4th down, and clock management continues to be an issue across the NFL....but Crazy Big Mike coaches for the Cowboys so its highlighted more often...

I think Ronnie is referring to some of Mac's 'meh' in game decisions...head scratchers, incompetent or just crazy like a fox? Or all of the above..who knows, but I think he's a little dopey to be honest. (Mac: not Ronnie!)

Yeah I am starting to wonder if Mac is just setting up some tendency busters.. Is he trying to make it so future opponents just can't ever draw bead on him..

Coaches do stuff to set stuff up for later all the time.. I am not saying McCarthy IS doing this.. But I do wonder if that's not his plan.. He now knows that his offense can put 40 on bad teams and 30 on good teams.. I think that buys you confidence to try stuff that at first glance doesn't make sense.. So you can mess with people ..

Honestly I was just thinking about this a few minutes before I read this post. That he is doing all of this rinky dink clock management stuff and trying different things but in the end, he will bust out and make consistently good coaching decisions in the end. You know, like testing his team and making these calls to see what kind of adversity the team can be pulled through during the regular season. Many people/fans won't buy it and I can't blame them. But, as a person with a lot of coaches/referees in my family, it's actually not that unorthodox. But of course, a coach will have to have tremendous confidence in their team to even have this mindset. So, it's feasible to say so.

The timeout before halftime was definitely a troll job. There's no other possible explanation. I mentioned this in the game thread. It was so stupid, Romo and Nantz were practically arguing trying to make some sense of it.

Are foxes generally known to be crazy? I never understood that colloquialism.

Yup. After winning the SB w/ Rodgers he got jealous how much attention Rodgers was getting and then purposefully lost games for the next several years as vengeance towards Rodgers. Took massages during team practices and got lazy - it was all a play to run himself out of GB and get hired by Jerry Jones. He then gained weight in an attempt to out-sly the NFL and fooling other coaches into thinking he wasn't as smart as he was. And now he's purposefully making dumb coaching game decisions to fool the NFL into thinking he's dumb only to unleash his secret weapon in the playoffs which is normal common sense calls a coach should make.

This man is the smartest man in the NFL and he has the NFL in his back pocket.

There was confusion on what down it was, because with the choice of penalties prior apparently there was a loss of down on the one NE took.
