We are seeing something that we havent seen since the 90s and thats this team just knows how to win. IN past yrs i really believe this team loses atleast 4 of these games this yr. Dallas has had great players, with little depth. But this yr they have the depth to go with the stars.

Give props to Jerry for realizing that the team just had to get better players on defense. Props to McCarthy for allowing Quinn to run his defense how he saw fit. And major props to Quinn for reinventing himself and his defensive philosophies.

As much as it was a feel good story in Rush, i hope we dont see him again. Dak needs to be running this team. This team is going as far as Dak takes them. But it is good to know they have a capable guy to win them a game if they need him to.

Yesterday i saw something i hadnt seen in a long time, and thats a complete Interior DL with Digi and Hamilton. Hamilton in particular had a great game lastnight. He was blowing up the middle and was getting after Cousins as a 1tech.

Randy Gregory has arrived. He took over the end of the game on every snap it seemed. Had them two nit picking penalties and after the last one when McCarthy was talking to him on the sideline he just gathered himself told McCarthy im good and went and destroyed whoever they put in front of him.

They say its better to be lucky than good and Rush was that on that throw to Cooper. Amari just seems to be there when you need him. But its great that he isnt everything you have and isnt the only one who can make a play. Lamb, Wilson, Schultz, Elliot, Pollard can all make that play.

Micha Parsons is probably the best athlete on the field every week. No matter where they line him up he makes plays, and he knows his job. Which makes everything look so effortless. He is what everybody thought Isaiah Simmons was gonna be.

Terrance Steele is the future of the OL. This guy is going to be really good for this team for alot of yrs. The dedication he put in the offseason shows how much he wanted it. I dont think Collins will ever play RT for this team again, rather i think we will end up seeing him play LG. Or if Tyron is out for any amount of time i think they play him at LT.

IM a every yr its superbowl or bust type of fan but this yr it feels different and i just get a feeling this is the yr. Yesterday was one of the most entertaining games of my life.

I agree about Steele. He could be the LT for a while if Tyron has to miss games. Unfortunately this means we probably won't get to see Collins at LG since he'll go back to RT in this scenario.

Another thought I want to add for myself is Anthony Brown is playing a lot better than anybody gives him credit for.

Players are not being smothered by Garrett. McCarthy is allowing these guys to have fun, while not calling them to the principal's office for every little mistake. It's very similar to how Jimmy Johnson treated players.

With Garrett, Gregory would have been pulled out of the game for that flag on the sideline. But McCarthy just walks up to Gregory and tells him to make up for his mistake. And you can see Gregory saying OK I gotcha, while patting Mike on the shoulder.

So if it feels like the 90's it's probably because McCarthy is treating the players like Jimmy did. And Jimmy's philosophy was..."You guys can have as much fun as you want. On the field or in practice as long as we're winning games I don't care."
The only difference is McCarthy can't run the hell out of players after a loss, because the new rules won't let him.

I don't know why but yesterday i felt more relax watching a game than I have been in long time. I think Rush played good enough to win but this is Dak's team and there is something about him that I feel know matter how bad we are getting beat, I feel we still have a chance to win. He just exubes confidence in others. I like that in a qb.

I think alot of it is just players being accountable. Gregory never really had a full offseason before this yr and it shows.

The two things that this team NOW has that it didnt in the past is pretty simple. The same two things that most have been saying we needed for a long time:

1. Great coaching
2. A defense

Cowboys lose that game last night without one or both.

Nice post. Speaking of Quinn reinventing himself, I think Mike did as well when he hunkered down in that barn for a year. He just never had the chance to show that last year due to the circumstances we all know about.

I dont think Steele is there yet, but his improvement from 2020 has been profound. Dude must have worked 24/7 in the offseason. You bet on those guys

Going from RT to LT is a MASSIVE move, I don't see that happening with Steele.

Yeah if we're going to do that, do it with La'el. He's changed positions once, is motivated now (I hope) and has experience. Let Steele continue to focus on his craft where he is.

And of course, having most of our team injured.

Dont think I have every seen a bigger blood bath on the injury front for the Cowboys than in 2020

Mix in a heavy dose of "luck". That errant pass the Rush threw to Amari should have easily been picked off.

I think we're better off with Collins at LT if Tyron misses time. He played it in college and it's more natural to him than RT. That's why he struggled when he was first moved to that side, the footwork is opposite.

If Tyron doesn't miss time, I hope that we eventually see Collins in place of Williams at LG. I'm not as down on Williams as some, but those holding penalties could eventually prove costly. Steele is clearly a better RT option than Williams is a guard, so I'm for Collins replacing Williams. Of course, I was for giving McGovern a shot and that didn't happen.

Agree with several points

Not sure about Steele. I don’t trust players who suddenly start playing well in their contract year
