Kellen Moore has a blind spot. running the ball

I could tell Troy wa frustrated by the lack of running.

They wanted to rely on Dak but it was clear very early that Dak wasn’t comfortable throwing against that type of coverage.

We might’ve had a better chance of Dak didn’t throw a single pass yesterday.

I have been screaming this since he took over. He simply has no feel for how to use the running game to settle things down when the wheels are coming off. He does not understand that 2nd and 6 is better than 2nd and 10 or 2nd and 13 when your line is not pass blocking worth a damn. He fails to acknowledge when they are overmatched and adjust accordingly. The absolute BEST way to slow down a pass rush is to let the offensive line fire out into the d-line and take some of the starch out of it. Not keep dropping back and saying "Hail Mary don't let Dak get killed." Yesterday's game never got to more than two scores difference and the running game was averaging at least 4 yards a pop.. Yet we went 50 pass 16 run.. Friggin three to one ratio!!! Moore seems to have forgotten that when this offense was rolling it was closer to 50/50. I am discouraged by this because I honestly thought that the three game stretch when we killed people by being balanced he had figured it out. But these last 4 games show me he hasn't.. and if he hasn't by now.. he probably never will. Somebody needs to hire him as head coach somewhere.. Soon.
When they go to the line in more of a hurry up and call the wham or dive play we start moving it and do it a few times in a row so the defense can’t sub out. Yesterday we put ourselves in passing situations to many times. And our poor Defense left it all on the field.

How many TDs do you think we left from drops. I think Brown drops one and looks like Wilson drops one. Opening play Dak missed Gallup wide open. After that I knew it’s a bad day coming. And the chiefs looked freaked out. They knew that could have started very different. Our Offense has to play with confidence. We need to execute. This team could have won that game.

The last time we went to a more balanced attack was after Jerry hinted not so subtly that we needed to run the ball more. It might be time for Coach Jerry to "meddle" again.. because Moore has wandered off into the pass every down wilderness again.. The pass/run ratio has gotten way out of whack.. as it always seems to with Moore..

Not just run more, I want to see both RBs more involved in the short passing game and utilize that short to intermediate. That homerun winging it deep down the sidelines. That's a problem!!!

I think what he was not comfortable with was the 300 pound guys running free at him.. The receivers dropped 6 balls by my count which likely would have resulted in another 100 yards of passing yards for us and at least 5 of them would have netted first downs.. If Dak wasn't comfortable throwing against that type of coverage were the receivers also uncomfortable catching against it?

What am I missing with the hate on KM?

- no Tyron, he is our OL and there is no doubt this is the reason our OL comes or goes. Of course Martin is part of this as well
- Zeke goes as goes the OL, see above. He is also not healthy
- Dak and our WR's go as our ruuning game goes, who rely upon our OL health. No Amari, so goes our WR's

When we do not have a running game Dak gets blitzed down after down...how does KM game plan around missing the key to our success. The first game our OL is healthy, Zeke is healthy and Dak and our offense goes off. Everybody will love everybody and all in the world is well

I just posted three examples from the play by play yesterday where the run gained 8,5 and 4 yards on first down and each time the next three plays were passes. It didn't matter what we did on first down Moore had made up his mind already that we were passing on 2nd. That displays a lack of commitment to the run.. And before someone chimes in with "well maybe Dak audibled out of the runs" .. That's a copout.. especially since at least half the time we come out with empty backfield on 2nd down ..
He has no faith in the run game or the run blocking to stick with it.

No he couldn’t get rid of the ball quick.

The 300 pound guys hitting him were just a result of the coverage they played.

Yesterday required a QB getting out of the pocket and making plays or a WR going up and brining a football down in tight coverage.

Yesterday was the exact gameplan teams use to beat Tom Brady.

I thought they did a decent job of getting the ball to the backs.. The problem is that they were almost always dumpoffs with the guys either standing still or running sideways.. We never send either Zeke or Pollard deep against a linebacker.. I don't get that.. Both can run receiver routes and both have great hands.. Especially in a game like yesterday when you were down both your #1 and #2 receivers. Get Zeke or Pollard isolated on a linebacker and get yourself a chunk play that way.. We never tried that.. and really have not done it since Zeke caught that bomb against Detroit like 4 years ago. And I agree.. Dak has got to stop getting greedy and impatient. Quit trying to hit the home run ball when a nice 5 yard pass will move the chains.. Especially when you're playing in 15-20 mph swirling winds.. Did you notice the Chiefs never tried any longballs in that wind? Can you say, understanding the conditions..

I am going to agree with this to a certain extent. Moore does forget the running game for some reason. But the way KC, and Denver, were lining up on defense, especially on 1st down, they were inviting Dallas to throw the football. They were lining up close to the LOS and playing press man all game. They may have doubled CeeDee a lot but the other WRs have to get open. It seemed like Moore never figured out what the Chiefs were doing.

The reason this worked is because the offensive line was not getting the job done blocking 5 on 4. Chris Jones literally wrecked Dallas's offense for 60 minutes. In Moore's defense, not many plays work well when the opponents DTs are setting up shop in your backfield every play. If I was Moore, I would have been rolling Dak out, going no huddle and making the Chiefs run sideline to sideline. Once Jones left the field to get a breather, I would have called a few deep routes to Gallup and CeeDee to see if they could maybe get loose.

Moore also has a problem in the red zone. He calls too much horizontal stuff in the red zone. I prefer the ball to go down field or in the end zone. I watch a lot of football on Sundays and there is no team that throws or runs as many horizontal plays as Dallas down inside the 20.

It's the game plan that teams use to beat every QB.. Get constant pressure, disrupt the receivers' routes, contest any balls thrown. If you can execute that better than the other team, there is no QB that can beat you.

Cowboys win against a bad team
"See this is why Dak is the best QB in the NFL!!!!"

Cowboys lose against a good or decent team
"WOW [Coaching], [Scheme], [This WR, RB, OL, Defense] is SO BAD, why doesn't Dak have any HELP!?!?!?!"

I could just as easily say that when things are going well Moore is the boy wonder who can do no wrong, the kid is a genius.

When the offense sputters and he has no answers, cant adjust, goes away from the run, and doesn't use play-action it is because of everyone but him. Must be nice to be the guy in charge and not have any accountability.

Eh.. a lot of teams run cover 3 or cover 4 all game.

What KC did is hard for any team to do for 4 quarters.

Just straight up man coverage. Dallas had nowhere to go with the ball quickly and Dak ate dirt because of it.

Moore’s main issue is he’s only good when we are ahead and dominating.

Once we get down or start slow, he immediately panics and begins with the ISOs and draws straight up the gut.

that’s not just Moore’s issue
That’s also on Dak
KC DL was playing great and stacking the box, it’s on Dak to make some throws and force them to back off

your boy couldn’t make throws to save his life

stop trying to blame Moore

We did not lose because the run game couldn’t get going. That’s completely false.
Let me deliver my message better. My point is, in losses the running game has been piss poor. The Bucc's game it was poor. Yesterday it was poor. Denver it was poor...maybe they should've ran it more that game.....the passing game was equally as bad. But the run game could open things up for us passing. Or it should. It rarely does. Normally, when this teams running game is piss poor the passing game is to. Its rare for one unit to be money and the other be bad.

Very true, should of pounded them with the running game, but how do we know Dak didn’t change some of the plays from run to pass?

Yeah Coop is maybe the best in the league at winning quickly off the line .. Without him in there it was obvious none of the other guys were presenting a good target on the hot routes. That's why Dak had to bail out so many times or get swallowed up by the rush.. Having to go with less experienced receivers in that environment was a huge handicap for sure. They did not do the QB any favors by not making the adjustment on the fly that you have to make in those situations.

Running off Tackle would be welcome change in this offense too
