Metallica a slight edge before the Black Album. Overall body of work Megadeth though

IMO from the 90's until now, Metallica has gone on to make some of the worst music ever heard

How many saw both these bands live...more than once? I did. One was undeniably better.

Metallica

Dave is a talented song writer / composer but his vocals held the band back big time. If he would have put his ego aside and hired a lead singer, they would be way more popular.

However Dave is the Man.

I liked 7 of the first 10 Albums of Megadeth. Not counting cover or best ofs.

I liked the first 5 Metallicas. the last one was ok.

However the ones in between were so freaking horrid. I remember getting Load and listening to it two times and giving it away...they should have called it load of horse crap it was so bad.
The next few were just as bad.

The last one was not as good as there old stuff but ten times better than the stuff in between.

And although Justice for All might have been the best guitar work ...Lars ego of lowering the bass sound so much in the mix made it so bad because the drums were so thin and tinney sounding.

I've seen both bands live .
Metallica 4 times
Megadeth 3 times.

Megadeth is the best one live in my opinion.

That being said Rust In Peace is my favorite album released by either band.

While I don't mind Megadeath, it's Metallica for me. Just love their entire body of work.

The Black album is one of the greatest albums of all time IMO. It's a masterpiece.
