I don’t understand the hate for Smith. He had a horrific injury, came back, and played pretty well for a couple of years. It’s not his fault the FO gave him a bad contract (as in bad for the team). Would you turn it down? The injury just destroyed his athleticism. It was no one’s fault. It’s past time to let it go.
The practice squad is different this year (and last). The relaxed rules mean that you can stash newly-signed vets there while they get up to speed (and in shape) without having to waste a roster spot on them. That's what Baltimore did with Latavius Murray, Devonta Freeman and Le'Veon Bell. The Giants would probably sign Jaylon this way initially even if they thought he really was an answer for them.
He's not, of course (an answer for them, or any question for that matter), so your larger point stands. He's done.
Clear eye view man!!!Judge: "So Jaylon, can you tell us about the Cowboys defense!"
JSmith: "Just go watch the tape. Watch the tape!"
The same landfill Jimmy Hoffa's buried in.Where can I order my jersey?
Understood, each circumstance is diff with different teams not all about talent, like when the titans signed AD after Henry's injury, he was signed to the practice squad so they could work the roster out then they brought him upThings are a lot different this year because of the situation we’re in but Smith wasn’t signed to the Packers practice squad when Green Bay signed him earlier in the season. He filled the roster spot of outside linebacker Chauncey Rivers.
I hate our team surgeon who said he’d recover. He’s only good enough to make the Giants practice squad. Safe to say this is the last gasp of his NFL career.
