Why da heck isnt Kellen being asked for all those interviews ?!
he is the real genius , remember ?!
he is the real genius , remember ?!
Because he's not a head coach. He's shown you this just last year lol. He's been a major part of two different Super bowl teams, ..two different SB runs ..and he's put in another good coaching run.
How is that about the NFL " never learning " ?
Me and you see this 100% the same way.It is hard to believe that teams would want him as a HC this soon after his horrible time in Atlanta. Quinn seems like Wade Phillips type of coach. They are great DC, but stink as HCs.
True. The lesson is players matter first and foremost. But Shanahan hung the defense out in the 2nd half of the SB, especially in the 4th quarter.Yeah but weren't the Falcons up by like 24 points? I just think Quinn's defense never lived up to what Dallas is now and what Seattle was when he was there.
Good points. But I think it’s easier to find a good DC than an OC. That certainly seems to be the case this year with the HCs that have been fired. But you’re absolutely right, the first priority is to find a good HC.If i'm the Bears i'd real careful about just designating HC's that could overlook quality HC candidates
Biggest key is getting a quality HC ..period. Regardless of being a offensive or defensive. .
That gotta be " offense " is probably what derailed Bears with Matt Nagy to begin with.
You hire a Sean Dermott, and let Dermott hire top quality OC's and asst's. to help hone that young QB.
- Belichek has his Josh Daniels
- Jimmy hired his Norv Turner
- Parcells had his Sean Payton
- Indy hired Tom Dungy a defensive coach, but kept top notch OC Tom Moore for Manning
- i really think Wash. Ron Rivera is a good HC. stuck with very mediocre QB personnel. (ditto with Steelers' Mike Tomlin)
What if Micah sucks without Dan Quinn?
Just an opinion, but HCs need to fall on the authoritarian side and let the coordinators be teachers and player coaches. Quinn seems to fall in that later category.Because he's not a head coach. He's shown you this just last year lol.
Some times a change of scenery is what a guy needs. Just look at Bill Belichick. Its amazing what a year will do......so they guy's rep was so bad from Atlanta he had to go back to being a DC.......months later he's now a head coach candidate again lol...the NFL will never learn but good for him. There's some nice things to like about him as a coach.
Quinn would be a good fit for the Bears. I do not want him to leave but it is understandable if he wants to lead a team.
Or Pete Carroll. But then there are some guys that are just that bad and they turn a rain forest to desert. Adam Gase? Some times a change of scenery is what a guy needs. Just look at Bill Belichick.

Not saying there aren't people who are just good defensive coordinators.I don't think it was change of scenery I Just think he isn't a HC......a change of scenery never swayed Wade from what he was. A DC at heart.
OR quin sux without MP11 id say that more of a reality. no parsons, diggs, gregory, or tank to bail those games out with TOsWhat if Micah sucks without Dan Quinn?

Both Moore and Quinn are gone, they see the writing on the wall with Prescot. The 40 million dollar a year bum who isn't going to lead this team anywhere anytime soon. They'll both bail before this team hits rock bottom and they don't want their careers tried to this dude..................
