I want to run the ball vs the 49ers, but we can beat them by passing

The Rams only had 6 yards rushing, vs the Whiners, in the 1st half, but moved the ball passing and scored 17 points. The Tennessee Titans struggled to run the ball, vs the Whiners, and still beat them with 1 healthy receiver.

We moved the ball up and down the field mostly passing the ball vs an excellent NE defense. Vs a healthy and talented Tampa Bay defense, we didn’t even try to run the ball, and moved the ball up and down the field with the pass. Offense definitely did enough to win that game!

My point: Though I would really like to be able to run the ball down SF’s throat. That may not happen with our run blocking vs their run defense. Moore would need to come up with some new, and improved, run schemes to help us run the ball. That is a possibility!

More likely though is for us to be able to pass the ball successfully vs the Niners D. The Niners D, in general, likes to play zone, and rush the passer with 4 lineman. Sometimes, of course they blitz. Their D line is excellent vs the run, but just good vs the pass. We need to take advantage of this and pass the ball a lot! Like Tennessee we might need to keep in extra blockers to slow down their pass rush. Tennessee was very successful keeping in extra blockers to give Tannehill extra time to pass the ball.

We may struggle to run the ball vs the Whiners, but if the O line gives Dak a clean pocket, with the help of Moore’s blocking schemes( Max protect and just send out 3 receivers at times ), we have the potential to move the ball consistently through the air and score a lot of points( 30 or more ).

There are many ways to win a football game. This may be the way for our offense.

Can we beat them just passing? Yes. Is that the best way to get it done? Absolutely not. We really need to establish at least a decent running attack. We can’t just let their D ignore the run and rush Dak all game. We need balance.
You make a good point. In general, I would almost always agree, but in this game I don’t know if I do.
Moore is not great at scheming running plays, he is very good at scheming passing plays though. Also, when Tennessee played them, the Niners D line was getting really tired rushing the passer. Tannehill was getting rid of the ball quickly or they were max protecting and he was getting a lot of time to pass.

I think we probably should try to run the ball early in the game, but we must have well designed run schemes to help our line. We also need to fake run plays and dump the ball of to our backs, especially to Pollard. Moore needs to find a way to get Pollard in space!

We can win this game, but the coaches are going to need to create some advantages for our players!

When I think of the 49ers, I'm reminded of the 2019 Rams playoff game where McVay ran the ball down our throw with a lot of misdirection plays.

LOS ANGELES — C. J. Anderson rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns while his teammate Todd Gurley rushed for 115 yards and another touchdown in the first playoff victory for the Los Angeles Rams in 14 years — a 30-22 win over the Dallas Cowboys in the N.F.C. ... -record 63rd postseason game.Jan 13, 2019

From the Los Angeles Stadium over the radio...with a top defensive lineman and QB...back in much earlier Cowboys days.

True but we have a much better defense now. I’m counting on them playing like it. We’ll see.

The offense was successful the first 7 games because the run game was a massive threat They had balance. Does anyone need a reminder what happened when the run game wasn't as dominant?

If this game is put into Dak's hands they will get their butts handed to them.

they're going to force Dak to throw under pressure into tight coverage hes gotta do it
he may get picked once but hes got to keep doing it until they back off. We need to use roll outs, RPOs, sweeps taking advantage of Pollards quicks.
We win.
We keep Dak in pocket pound Zeke up the middle, we lose.

12 personal. We will get back to that and that’s when we were at our best offensively. It’ll be hard to run vs this D. OP is likely right.

I think Cowboys defensive front is better than the 2018 team. No doubt Galimore and Osa have their work cut out along with DLaw but I do think this is a much improved front that what we put on the field in 2018.

It's very difficult to beat ANY team if you only do one thing on offense. The Cowboys don't need to run for 200 yards but they do need to keep running the ball.. even if it's only 2-3 yards a pop because the offense is structured around play action passing and if you don't run at all the defense doesn't have to honor the play fake and the second level defenders can get really deep drops on you and take away the seam routes and in cuts... leaving you a dump off to a TE or a back as your only viable options. We also need to run some place other than between the damn guards. Slamming Zeke or Pollard into a 2000 pound mass of humanity (because we don't get any movement up front) is a recipe for failure.. We HAVE to attack the edges of their defense..

I think, like literally history has shown us time and again with this group, that trying to win through the air is worst case scenario.

We're 0-5 when Dak had less than 100 rushing yards of support this year. Maybe we're due, but I'm not hedging my bets on it.

We HAVE to get a run game going if we want to keep advancing.

Yep, the pass to Cooper last week when the Eagles were offsides is a pass Dak needs to make when he has fear of a turnover! He plays scared of an INT. He has the arm strength to make that throw - he just needs to do it!

Raindrop throws like that sideline pass to Cooper are not about arm strength.. They are about touch.. Dropping the ball in there over the corner but in front of the safety is one of the ultimate touch passes. Dak doesn't try a lot of that particular throw but the funny thing is when he has, he has been absolute money on them. Remember the two he dropped into the bucket to Gallup up the left sideline? I forget which game that one was.. but those were some "Hoooo leeeee sheeeet.. that was nice" throws.. Then there was that one on a FOURTH DOWN that he dropped in there to Wilson.. He doesn't attempt a lot of them but I honestly cannot recall a single instance where he missed one .. though I'm sure there must have been some.. I don't know why he doesn't trust himself on those throws more.. because he really should..

What in the crap are you talking about - that was not a raindrop throw! That was not a touch throw.

With their front, it will be tough to run on them.
