To be honest everytime the media are high on the cowboys they seem to eat the cheese and come out flat after thinking they're all that. The opposite usually happens when the team is doubted and disrespected. Guys like Dlaw, Zeke, and Dak seem to take it personal and it seems to bring the best outta them. Don't think that these guys don't hear media calling them soft and finesse!

The Niners are that "team no one wants to play", which is patently absurd in the most testosterone driven sport in this country.

Have you really ever thought about what qualifies any of these people to be football handicappers? They're all like weather forecasters, we expect them to be wrong at least 25% of the time.

But to your point even the best handicappers are only about 60% right.

And they have the line at 3 which is smallest margin this weekend so I’d say the experts and analysts at least are in line with the handicappers that this is toughest matchup .

Ya'll are the ones butt hurt that the media picked the 49ers as if that should even matter. Ya'll just want the Cowboys to be victims so you can whine about it.

If the Cowboys don't like it then they should earn some respect and the fans should stop crying whenever they pick against us.

I'm with those who hate to admit it, but think it's altogether valid to consider us an underdog.

I keep coming back to this as the tipping point standard...

Of teams that have a legitimate shot at their conference championship games, who have the good guys defeated, and who have the bad guys defeated?

(New England, in OT)

SF = 3
(LA Rams, Cincinnati in OT, and LA Rams in OT)


We can win, but only if we play at a high level. I don't see this being a game we can win ugly. If we're playing at middling or low performance, it's difficult to see us advancing.

Any objective observer would pick us to lose. Our record is based mostly on beating up bad and non playoff teams. Then we lost most games we played against decent playoff teams like Tampa, KC, Raiders, and Arizona. We beat one, NE.

If I'm Big Mike, I'm making sure that the team understands that everyone is betting against them and saying we're all flash and no dash... You can't underestimate the motivation a lack of respect or belief can have on a football team.. I also have to wonder if Big Mike is saving some macheesmo for the post season!!!

For me it's common sense.. Dak comes into the league and takes it by storm and they have a false sense of security because of the play of the team. Think about it for a second, they hadn't had to go through many tough loses to good teams at that point so they hadn't been battle tested. Even after losing to Rogers, they still believed that they were the better team in my opinion, or that they would be back as one of the best teams in the NFL... They found out the hard way that it's not that easy and teams prepare for your tendencies.

After all the tough loses this year to good teams the team can either learn from it or lose confidence. To me it's apparent that the team has been through enough to realize they have to pull out all the stops and can't afford to let their foot off the gas. It will take a complete team win to get it done and at this point in time we're as complete as we've been.

It hasn’t been as lean for them. They’ve been to a couple of Super Bowls the past decade. The Cowboys haven’t even gotten past the divisional round in 26 years.

Glad they lost those 2 SBs as they were overly smug about being undefeated (4-0 for the longest time) in SBs.

I can respect that, but don't go overboard and bash them overly much. It's not like most of us are saying they're going to win the SB and it will be cake. This isn't the same team Garrett coached and should be given a chance.

Look at how much better the defense is compared to last year and they're getting better. That's a huge positive to build from. There's been hiccups. There's been road bumps. There's been mistakes. But right now they're 0-0 in the playoffs and have a real shot. Do I think they'll make the SB? Probably not. I think it's likely they'll get bounced in the divisional game. But I'm going to root for them all the way rather than complain and talk about ways they are going to lose.
