La'el has a mean streak when he faces strong competition. L Collins also seems to play at a higher level when Moore calls for Collins to pull on running plays. I would love to see Dallas establish the run early and allow La'el to punish Bosa and the other defensive players, Big La'el likes to maul like a Grizzle Bear. Allow him to Maul.

Go Dallas!!!

It's a nice matchup to watch, but I wouldn't call it the key to the game. Our ability to run on offense and our ability to stop the run on defense are the keys to this game.
THE key to the game is protecting Dak. We have seen how he crumbles under pressure....and we have seen Dak flourish when he feels free. Nobody....and I mean Nobody....can score as quickly as we can when we are hitting on all cylinders. If we protect Dak...that SF secondary is pure trash...and we will put up 40+. Hell...just last week...the Rams exposed them. What was surprising was how the SF defensive front wore down the Rams Oline....which is one of the better units in the league.

The Rams defense is made to stop high-powered passing teams. They cannot defend against a good run offense.

I also think that SF has the Rams numbers. They have beaten them like 5 times in a row.

We aren't the Rams. I don't think they will be as successful running against us as with the Rams

That’s the key to the game. If he ca. handle box, we win. It’ll help if he. Can beat him up in the run game.
Definitely a huge part of things.

Biadasz needs to not get pushed back into the ball carrier consistently also.

He honestly played better in the earlier part of the year against some of the better DTs.

Maybe he has a good game in him but he is the OL I'm most concerned with....by far.

Yeah, Philly second team OL without their starting RB ran for 150 against us but the best running team in the NFL will not be successful LOL

It’s not the key to the game, but it is a concern. Collins didn’t look good against Eagles backups last game. Personally, with Smith back, I would play Steele over Collins at right tackle. At a minimum I’d have a quick hook if he does struggle.

I mean if he's gonna struggle then yeah you can struggle with Steele or Nsheke....Collins should be one of our least concerns of our offensive line..there was a point where he was playing as good as Tyron and Martin about 2 or 3 years ago....now we are talking about Steele taking his spot......just sucks.

I don’t think it’s the key but it could become a huge problem is he is allowed to go off
I hope we are smart enough to not expect Collins to contain Bosa all day by himself

It is definitely one key matchup. Collins got called out by the broadcasting crew at least twice for missing blocks vs the Egirls. Has to step up for sure.

I still think the mistake was not leaving Steele at RT and putting Collins in at LG. Collins wasn't a great LG but he was better than Willliams has been. Get your 5 best OL on the field and that would be Smith, Collins, Biadasz (well he might not be one of our five best), Martin, Steele.

It absolutely does suck. But that’s what I’m seeing lately. In that Philadelphia game, he was not only shaky in pass protection, but he was missing blocks in the running game as well. Conversely, Steele went from playing well at left tackle to crushing it at right tackle with the backup offensive line later in the game.

After this season, Connor Williams is in all likelihood gone and that opens up left guard. I’d strongly consider Collins there if the team decides to keep him around. I’ve heard that with his suspension, his guarantees in his contract were voided.

I agree. I just mentioned that for next year. I think they’d have a much more physical line with Collins at left guard. I think he’s better in a phone booth where the opponents have to deal with him head on.

Actually, Philly may be the best, ever since they went away from their pass happy approach. The Eagles completely dominated the Saints defensive front and number 1 ranked run defense, which owned us.

This may also point to just how good the Philly run blocking coaching is, not just their first team personnel.

But yeah, your point regarding the 49ers running game against us still stands as well. We have actually showed some areas of concern in run defense and let’s be honest, we’ve played really bad QBs where Quinn has had everybody close to the line, including the LBs. This may not happen with the 49ers. LVE is always a considerable question mark. The 49ers can make you pay for an overly aggressive attacking style defense.
