It took 26 straight seasons of failure to put things into perspective for you?
I was one of those guys that blindly believed that Jason Garrett was one of the biggest issues with the franchise.

Not even close. It's diseased from the top down.

It was a sobering loss. Really put things into perspective.

I had these grand plans to attend away games at Nashville or at Jacksonville next season, possibly both. Love both of those cities. Now, I'm just going to probably watch at home and save my time and money. Only idiots invest in crappy products.
I live 40 minutes fro Jerry world and I won’t be attending that over priced circus

Our roster isn't the problem.

Both of our coordinators are the hottest names in the coaching ranks right now...although boy wonder is a JOKE imo.

Never liked the McCarthy hire, so that is on him. I will see if he fixes it or not.

I understand the cap issues with Zeke...but he needs to go period. Pollard(our most explosive player) getting 6 touches in that game yesterday is inexcusable.

"Lucky" in FA. No, they knew exactly what they wanted and a guy like Jayron was targeted for his skillset. They also got both of the safeties everyone was bellyaching over and got them really cheap. The geniuses here would have thrown the farm at them.

Our roster is a problem. They are weak at DT and the 49ers exploited it. They don't have any LBs beyond Parsons. LVE has regressed since 2018. The interior OL is terrible with a C and LG that are below league average. As you said the starting TB is completely worn down at this point.

Elliott is a bad contract? Who gave him that bad contract? Who hired McCarthy? Jerry is a bigger problem than you are willing to admit.

This isn't blackjack. Luck doesn't get your to the SB. You have to play the games and beat great teams.

No duh

But this team's plans are often built on hopes and prayers, not sound football decisions.

The miserables are in their euphoria right now. All is right in the world with them!

1. Jerry is not the problem
2. We will see
3. Zeke needs to be cut, worthless. Dak set records this year and led us to the division in spite of a totally ineffective Zeke. BAD game yesterday but it can be fixed.
4. You guys said the same thing going into this year, particularly about our defense. LOL.

Just go watch another team if there is no hope here.

We need to start divesting ourselves from the bad long-term contract during this next phase to put ourselves in a position for the next run.

Cooper & Lawrence this year (will save $39M in cap). Zeke the next.

Draft, sign, & develop young talent

I assume you mean June 1 cuts, right? Lawrence and Cooper being cut only saves $24 million on the cap this year as regular cuts.

I don't feel better going forward! Every year from here on out because of greedy Dak this team will be struggling to get under the cap and won't be signing any FAs including their own. They are stuck with the draft and will be forced to play rookies.

You can't.

1) Jerry is still calling the shots

2) McCarthy likely will survive as Jerry struggles at admitting mistakes this early

3) They have some bad contracts on the books, namely Zeke and Dak.

4) Want to fix the roster? Good luck, the Cowboys are $13 million OVER THE CAP so restructures and cuts will be just to get into cap compliance. They will have to really penny pinch in FA this year. There are a lot of guys people thought could help that are going to walk - Kearse, Gallup, etc.

At the end of day, it seems we can only tinker. So I hope that tinkering fixes the interior OL. Biadasz and Williams were terrible. Maybe Moore takes a job and we can kind of purge the offense and start over. They'll have to nail 2-3 of their draft picks with guys who can make immediate impacts.

That seems to be the extent of what we can/will do. Probably enough to be in contention for the NFCE again next year but success beyond that?

You summed it up great! The root cause of these 26+ years of mismanagement, disappointment, and mediocrity is still here as GM and will be..... so we can only hope for a miracle and that Will McClay is able to strike gold and bat near 1000 during the draft and rebuild the OL and many other holes immediately (ie.. We have no other choice but to try to build the OL and running game to help Dak. In addition we can only hope KM gets hired somewhere else and we to hire a "QB whisperer" OC to help as well (we have to live with his contract like it or not)). Also have to hope we can maintain at least a middle of the ground level of defense somehow even though we will be losing players to free agency and our HC.... Way too many things to take care of in one off season and the players we have are not getting any younger either.....

Making Polard the full time back or at least make it a 50/50 split would go along way to fixing Dak and the offense. Polard doesn't need to average 20 carries a game but they need to use him like the Saints do Kamara. Polard can easily get 900-1000 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving . Zeke needs to take to take back seat for sure.

Cooper saves $20M and Lawrence saves $19. I'd really like to get through the dead cap over the next 2 seasons.

That's literally what they've done for years.

They will re-sign a few [Kearse, Gregory, Schultz] etc.

Sign 1-2 low key guys [Kazee, Hooker types]

Then draft well.

I was thinking earlier, what if Arod wants to be in NY? Washington offers the brinks for Watson, and then Philly has more than enough Ammo for Wilson. Would be one bonkers division

What’s even crazier about this idea is that it’s completely possible unlikely but possible.

We are Cowboys fans at heart. We will all settle down in a few days and put this behind us. We will all still support the team.

Stop. The interior OL blocking of Willliams and Biadasz is just poor. Changing TBs isn't going to make that different.

The Cowboys need a new OL coach and they need to overhaul the OC and LG spots, at a minimum.
Seems Columbo had these guys playing better.

As June 1 cuts.

If you make them regular cuts, they only save $24 million this year.

What team plays an injured RB during a number of games, when you have a healthy RB, at the time?
or how about this........What team doesn't spotlight a RB (TPollard) with skills that are a change of pace, hitting the small hole quicker, or have versatility in the open field in the game plan?

What franchise does that?

Since we blame Zeke for all this.......maybe Zeke been holding somebody hostage. I'd really like to know. There is more to this than simply Zeke's salary.

Agree to disagree.

Total joke that they trotted Zeke out there in that condition for the last two months..

Well...no one has a roster with not issues. No one.

I agree with that...i said it at the time that they should let zeke sit and not give him that contract...but they did it anyway.

Already admitted that the McCarthy hire was a mistake...also said that before we hired him.
