When have you known Jerry to get ahead of a mistake?

Doubling down on dumb is what he does. Over and over.

Every single move is reactive.

Prescotts plan to cash in again after four years is such a joke at this point that he will probably sign an extension within a year and Jerry will think he is getting a bargain.

But we have yet to feel the effects of losing players because of his salary and its coming.

But....Jerry will get on the radio and tell everyone how great things are because he has to sell his product, and will continue to never see what a conflict that is.

No other pro sports franchise is run this way....it doesnt work by a longshot, but still....there will be no changes.

Where are we supposed to go with all this as fans?
There's nothing we can do about it. We just have to hope that we can luck into a Super Bowl run at this point.

If Jerry actually cared about winning he would use the next 3 years to rebuild this team. The only players that should be on big contracts after 3 years is Parsons, Lamb, and Diggs. Everyone else can go.

Then you use everything to build a solid foundation and get a real QB in here now that Dak's contract will be up.

To be honest, both Romo and Prescott are better than 80% of what the league has. Too bad they can't win for whatever reason. Oh well, maybe someday eh

They're really not the same. Romo was a gunslinger and Dak is a bus driver. Neither one made it anywhere worth talking about. That being said, I'd take Romo over Dak all day.

This is a good way to put it.

Romo was creative as hell but made some boneheaded mistakes.

Dak mostly avoids mistakes and follows the plan, good or bad.

Both lost in postseason.

What??? Romo only played a half of season with Bill Parcells before Jason Garrett ruined his career. For most of his career with Bill Parcells, Romo was the scout team QB.

So I take it you didn't see Bill Parcell's "Last Ride" or Hard Knocks? Parcells was always in his ear. Parcells "you know what you are, Romo? You're a golf ball in high weeds!" Romo "what that, coach?" Parcells "lost!" But he did figure it out and had a very good but disappointing career. Dak is headed there too that same good but disappointing career too if he doesn't get it together.

Parcells had 3 years with Romo. That's more than enough time.

My point is, Romo had HOF coach, a likely HOF coach and a very good coach in the crucial part of his early development. Yes he had Garret. But Dak had Garrett too, and Wade Philips. Lol BIG TIME difference.

Dak with time and no time can't anticipate his receivers' routes. Pass rush is part of the game, and the $40M wants to sit back there for 5 secs.
False. This is just complete nonsense.
He threw more yards to TDs and less INTs than any season in his career.
His completions were the highest they've ever been.
His completion percentage was the highest as well.
His rating was nearly the best he had at 104.2

A QB that can't anticipate his WRs wouldn't hold a candle to those numbers, stop repeating whatever idiot told you that.

I never had to worry about Romo reading the defense, I was more concerned about the quality of coaching staff around him.
Oh you must've not been paying attention....

The fact that the Cowboys can keep changing QBs and head coaches and the results look exactly the same is what you call "a clue."

It's not about the individuals, not really. The Cowboys have been a trash organization in the 21st century and have gotten trash results. The fact that Romo and Prescott were merely above average instead of Hall of Famers didn't doom the Cowboys up to this point, it's that they're top down a joke franchise. Worse QBs than them have rings, but they weren't hamstrung by a Jerruh tier albatross around their necks.

This board has always had this disease where everyone acknowledges that the GM and coaching are trash tier, then turn around and blame the QB for everything under the sun. If only this one guy was never ever wrong, everything would be different! Well yeah, but that's not how this really works.

If it's Dak keeps throwing to them?

That's what I thought!

Hey I like that comeback. ;)

No matter where Owens played he made that QB look good. Witten and Dez would've did the same. Especially Witten.

But I hate talking hypothetical so I won't. Like when Barry Sanders supporters says that if he traded places with Emmitt, Barry would've been the greatest and Emmitt would've been a JAG. It's impossible to know that. We do know that early in both Romo's and Dak's NFL career, Romo had better coaches. And it's not even close!

I'm replying to so many here I might get posters confused. If you didn't say in another post that Garrett ruined Romo's career, (because you could also say that about Dak) please disregard that last part because it had nothing to do with your thoughts in this thread.

You were wrong about Dak.

I tried to tell ya.

So far, yes I was. But Romo's legacy is already set in stone. Dak is still writing his, and he's not going anywhere because like Romo, Jerry loves Dak too. So since he's not going anywhere and since I'm loyal to The Star and not any particular player, I will still be rooting, supporting and sticking up for our players who play for The Star. I don't have an agenda against Dak like 90 percent of his haters here do, or Romo for that matter. I know he doesn't remember me, but @Quickdraw banned me from the board he moderated because I attacked a Romo basher after we choked in 2007. People there said it was all Romo's fault for going to Cabo, but it wasn't.

And you sure seem happy that people was wrong about Dak this year.

And yes, you told us. Since you're patting yourself on the back, I'll give you a cookie. :D

I wanted to be wrong about Dak.

But with the amount that I have been insulted and ridiculed for not thinking that dude is an elite level QB you best believe I am going to shove it in people that told me "You just don't know football" faces.
