Zeke’s numbers versus the 49ers:
31 yards.
2.6 YPC.
Longest run was 9 yards.

If you discount the ridiculous Dak run at the end that ran out the clock, our team rushed for 60 yards (3 YPC).

Winning teams: Bucs ran for 100, Rams for 140, Bills for 174, Chiefs for 106.

Guess how many yards the losers had aside from us? Eagles (one of the top running teams during the season) had 95, Cardinals had 61, Steelers had 56, Raiders had 103 (it was actually a close game, go figure).

The pattern here is obvious. Teams that commit to rushing the ball AND successfully run the ball are shown to control the outcome of games. This is not a QB thread (we don’t need another QB thread here), he has zero control for OL blocking schemes and the performance of the running backs. It’s obvious we need to make changes here:
  • Replace Moore or our OL coach. Our blocking schemes have been atrocious.
  • Zeke has to split at least 50/50 with Pollard. He’s not a star anymore.
  • Draft OL high: Center or Guard.
I don’t think we need to “rebuild” our offense completely. Just focus on the trenches and keep improving there so we can dictate the pace of games. If we can’t find an elite QB in the draft we’ll at least have some success with our current bus driver.

Zeke got 12 carries and Pollard got 4. They weren't serious about running. It wasn't like we were out of the game where we had to abandon the run except for the last possession. Pollard should have gotten more carries.

How many different opposing coaches and defensive players do you need to hear before you understand that every team we play against go into games against us trying to take away the run?

Why is that so hard for people to understand?
If the defense isn't worried about getting beat by the pass, it's MUCH easier to defend the run, especially if you have a good front 4 like the niners do.

Do you honestly think the 49ers will go into their next game saying "geez, we need to try and make Brady beat us with his arm that's our best shot"??
Of course not! To have a good running game, you also need defenses to fear your passing attack and vice versa. Geez.

Exactly. We didn’t commit to the run, nor were we particularly good at it either.

That’s pretty good for not having any healthy RBs. They covered it up for weeks, but you can’t run the ball with no RBs. I like the idea of focusing on the OL but Dallas will be in trouble because they also need a LB, RB, and DE. With the long season it’s probably time to start carrying 4 RBs, 3 at least but Dallas only had 2 and then they couldn’t get Clement up to speed apparently which is strange because they had 3 weeks to do it.

I still for the life of me don’t know why you can’t do some of the motion stuff the rams… cards and 49ers do. With pollard and Ceedee in the backfield.

You can do all that…. Have dak keep the ball. So some RPO read option stuff. I get not using it in the season to not hurt dak. But to not in the playoff game is ridiculous.

It’s difficult for a defense to defend. Makes them think an extra Half second. Especially with bosa out.

This is the only correct game plan going forward

Clement has been on the team since September 1st, sure you’re not thinking of Ito Smith?

Haven't we gone over this? It the parade on Zeke continues, obviously the other flaws will continue to swept under the rug, and the kool-aid will be on sale again in August.

Getting a better rushing attack next year is one area the team could really improve on.
