He's being used different. He's always been a guy who needs a lot of carries to wear down the defense. He'd get stronger as the game went on. His carries are way down, the run blocking has been less than good lately and Kellen Moore can't design a run game. He just runs Zeke up the middle 10 times a games.

Hasn't been a homerun threat in a while

Even in his rookie year he wasnt breaking open big runs. He had long screen pass against Pitt, and that medium td run to end that game.
He seems to run into guys, choses the wrong lane when he gets to the second level. Just compare him and Pollard.
Pollard always get positive yardage. Zeke needs to be benched immediately and frankly cut. Start Pollard and draft a RB in the middle rounds. SF finds one to two every year. It's not rocket science.

He's worn out and now injured, we get it. That's the reason for not including the first three seasons of his career.
I think big plays from your RB are nice but not necessary. Big plays need to come from the passing game. We just need Zeke to turn more of those 0-2yd runs into 3-5yd runs.

When your running game dictates the defensive alignment that opens up the big plays for the passing game.

That's largely due to the fact Zeke really isn't a threat anymore as an outside runner. He's just not as quick as he was. He's a between the tackles runner at this point. Many pointed this out but if you go back to the Eagles game (May have been the Cards game though) where Zeke got the handoff on a simple up the middle run, the left side of the OL collapsed the DL and Elliott turned left and headed outside.

What should have been a 15 yard run turned into a 6 or 7 yard gain. Elliott couldn't shake/cut and make a DB miss. He tried to but just ended up running into him.

Elliott clearly isn't the same TB he once was.

Once again Jerry saw a shiny new toy and had to overpay before he needed to.
Mind you this is the brain trust that laughs at fans because they're the ones that know what they're doing fans are dumb.

so he will be here another year..means nothing.

the charts, rankings, fans just like to keep posting narratives.doesnt matter,

So we aren't allowed to talk about and point out that he's not as good as he once was, that the contract is limiting the team from a roster perspective all because he's going to be here next year?

This.

What makes the whole Elliott thing worse was the Cowboys trotted out all the data and reasons why signing a TB to a long term deal isn't good business when the Murray situation cropped up. The data shows TBs decline after certain usage. So they limited the dollars and years on their offer to Murray. A few years later, apparently they lost that spreadsheet and dropped the largest contract on a TB in history.

As a Zeke fan I have no problem admitting he has been a detriment to the team the past few years. It is past time to utilize a true committee or sit him. Maybe they should do with this with Dak and whoever the backup QB may be. Dak has the 1st and 3rd quarter and the backup has the two minute drill quarters:)...

You mean you want open competition for starting spots every year, its a great idea but seems it has gone away from this form of the NFL for a while. Gauranteed contracts have done away with that. But yeah its should absolutley be that way.

That would be nice but we all know money is the dictator when it comes to sports. Explains why Zeke played through an injury and Dak hasn't had true competition since Romo retired. My sarcastic grumpy post about this overhyped team of supposed stars is they are both a detriment to this team and should be riding the bench. Neither have proven capable of being a legit star and putting the team on their backs when push comes to shove.
