He can’t even make proper passing decisions on the field. Now he thinks he’s a GM.

Yeah, because that's totally what he said:

“I think that just depends on whether they ask me,” Prescott told Epstein. “I’m not going in and knocking on doors saying, ‘Hey, I want this done, I want that done.’

“I’m not going in and knocking on doors saying, ‘Hey, I want this done, I want that done.’

Dak is making no demands what so ever he has said he hope they would ask for his input

"But I’m pretty sure that my opinion will be valued in certain decisions, as I hope."

I think his impute would matter. It should not over rule what is in the overall interest in terms of cap but I do think he will have some insight given he is the one working closely with these player.

In the end the final choices will be to Jones.

People don't actually read articles. They just react to headlines. It does make for some funny responses, though.

I love Dak but he let that fool David Carr make him look stupid at a carnival. Bouncing balls off the ground and hitting target. Dak is good. We can win with him. We are doomed.

You're paying him $40 million, he's our leader. Should he be able to give his input on getting players here etc, give your thoughts please!!

Dak needs more help.He needs 10 other All-pros on O to look decent and put up his hollow stats against bad teams and crap the bed against good teams. But he has been sooo great in crunch time(sarcasm there.)

37 TDs 10 INTs

explain it all away go ahead

So the most glaring liability on the team wants to make decisions now?

The guy who typed 5,000 words to say he doesn't care didn't bother to read what Dak actually said. Why am I not surprised? :muttley:

“I think that just depends on whether they ask me,” Prescott told Epstein. “I’m not going in and knocking on doors saying, ‘Hey, I want this done, I want that done.’

Did we really need another thread to misrepresent what he actually said? He was asked a question and answered it.

The answer to your question is simple: if the Jones boys ask for his input then he should give it. If they don't, then no. Which is pretty much what Dak said.

If he was Brady if Rodgers I could see getting his opinion and considering it but I think they need to let Prescott focus on getting himself straight first. The opinions of a 1-3 playoff record guy shouldn’t carry much weight

if they want his opinions on Sleep Number beds and Chunky Beef soup, I believe his opinion would carry considerable weight

I think many QB are asked for some input, that is a far cry from making the overall decision that a team must make.

I would keep my franchise QB in the loop to a degree simply to promote the 'we're all in this together' mentality. This can be a double edged sword so I would really need to read the room and proceed with caution. The QB would need to understand his role and that while I value his opinions they are not the deciding factor and might be ignored.

No matter what you pay a player, I think your best, most critical player on defense should be able to share his opinion. Micah is a rookie, but let’s say he has another great year at LB this coming year….yes, a star player who’s actually on the field should be invited to share his impression of what is needed around him to facilitate his success and that of the defense.

The starting QB, as long as he isn’t just a stop gap, is on the field. The QB should be a vital voice on what will facilitate his play and keep the offense rolling. Does he need a go-to receiver? A security blanket TE? Better protection? A starting QB should be part of the offensive design and weekly game plan. “What plays do you like best? What throws are you most confident in? Who do you have the most confidence in to cross the face of the CB on the slant, so you can turn it loose on time without worrying he will let the defender get position? What’s more important, secure the OT position and you’ll move and scramble from the inside pressure, or secure the inside positions and you’ll be responsible for stepping up or avoiding the DE who breaks free now and then?”

To me the gm wants to hear the perception of what’s needed most from the most important and highest paid player on the field. The OC wants to build the game plan and his play-calling chart based on what he sees and hears from the QB. If you rebuild the run game, do you not want to hear what the RBs like most and what style the OL feels most comfortable with?

The players know they don’t make the final decisions and they don’t expect to name the players they want in free agency or the draft. That’s all about value, scouting, and the gm having the final say. But players want to be and should be heard at the very least. No one goes into free agency or the draft without asking what the coaches feel they need. Any coach or personnel person who doesn’t ask key players who are committed to winning and are on the field what they need or what they think is needed for the unit is missing a great opportunity.

No, Jerry should be seeking a refund from Dak and then show him the door. Why do fans love never winning a SB so much?

LOL dude is Russel Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, James Harden. A high priced stat machine that plays loser ball. You gotta win something before you get to be Lebron James. At this point that guy on his contract is as much of a detriment to the team as he is a benefit. Maybe next time win the game instead of pooping your 40 million dollar baby pants on the last drive.
