The deal would free up the entire contact. I know it probably doesn't work that way but if it did would you make the trade?

Do we get rid of his salary? Like it’s just gone and not on our cap?

Absolutely I’d do that deal. We’d be in a better position and it’s not like Mills can’t develop into a player that can win against all of the bad teams and lose to al of the good teams.

Yes!

I appreciate the thought, but as respectfully as I can say this…. it makes no sense whatsoever to me to get rid of a top 7-15 QB. I feel like some want Patrick Mahomes or a younger version of an elite QB or they just feel like Dak is garbage. I get it, but Dak is NOT a garbage QB. Please be realistic here and set your personal bias aside.

I notice it in every thread. Someone tries to trade Dak. Prescott will be our quarterback for the foreseeable future. He has a no trade clause. Fans need to move on. I want Zeke gone and I know that is not happening either.

So we are talking fantasyland where the entire Dak contract goes away? I'd do that without Davis Mills. Dak is just an anchor holding this team down. That's a dose of reality that most Cowboys fans are having trouble swallowing.

Gotta friend in Dallas and Jerry was talkin up Rogers Saturday! Should be leaking out soon.

That would be the ultimate fantasy. Get rid of McCarthy and Dak in one fell swoop. Better chance I play QB for the Cowboys this fall.

We will have Dak until his contract is up. Then he needs to be paid for who he really is.....middle of the pack.....no no no not among the elite. Jimmy G type $$$$$.

Do doubt we can improve on Dak just do something about that ridiculous $$$$, that was crazy.

Would only make sense if, as kskboys said, we can the the Texans' first round pick.

Not that I'm thinking Dak isn't a very good quarterback, but this team could tear down and rebuild. T. Smith is on his last legs, Williams is poor, Biadasz is only fair, Martin is no spring chicken and is beginning to have injury issues, and Collins is average. So the o-line needs to be rebuilt.

Not saying they should rebuild, but if you're going to have a raw near-rookie quarterback, makes no sense to waste Cooper, etc. while your raw qb learns the game and gets beat up behind a mediocre o-line. Trade/release some players, get the o-line built up asap and start over.

Problem with that scenario is of course Jerry, etc. don't have a clue how to build a SB championship team, so rebuild or not, the results in the next few years will be more mediocrity....
