The Cowboys questions no one is asking

I thought I heard 5 questions.

1. Did CeeDee disappoint? I would say yes he did compared to the hype when he was drafted. But no player can play to the level of hype after being drafted by Dallas. Parsons may be the exception. I do think CeeDee drops too may balls. But I think he could be a star if the QB was trying to throw him the ball more often. The problem in Dallas is if you have Cooper, Lamb and Gallup on the roster, chances are no one receiver is going to set any records for receptions, yards, and TDs. The Cowboys are best when they spread the ball around. At the same time, DAk went into dink and dunk mode the second half of the season and that didn't help any of the receivers.

2. What if Dak is what he was at the end of the season? He is what we saw in 2021. We know this because we saw the same thing in 2019. and honestly, if you look at 2020 before Dak was injured he looked really good too, but that was 4 1/2 games. Maybe he would have faltered down the stretch in 2020 if he didn't get hurt. We don't know. But at this point we have to assume Dak is the QB who starts hot and slides as the season progresses. I think the right answer is, if this is who he is, then he needs to finish his contract with Dallas and then Dallas has to move on from him. But based on what I am hearing about restructuring his deal, that sounds unlikely. He will be in Dallas for at least 4 more years IMO. Jerry has his finger on the button of a slot machine and he is certain if he keeps pushing the button it will pay off eventually.

3. Is playing Brown a signal about how they feel about Joseph? They paid Brown before they drafted Joseph. Then Joseph got hurt and missed the first part of the season. I like Joseph and I think he will be better than Brown once he gets some experience. I would look to trade Brown because he has trade value. He is going into the last year of his contract. I am not going to re-sign him in 2023 so might as well see what they can get for him in 2022 - and clear CAP space at the same time. If you had to come up with $5 million in CAP room to sign Kearse, would you cut Brown to do it? I would.

4. Would you trade Dak for Kyler Murray? I think the Cardinals would want more for Murray than just Dak. I also think any team would balk at taking on Dak's contract. I am not a big fan of Murray, but he has never lost in AT&T stadium and I do like that if he is my QB!

5. What if Sean Payton doesn't want to coach the Dallas Cowboys? Does it matter? He is not available for 3 years unless Dallas is willing to compensate the Saints. And if the Saints want 2 first round and 2 second round picks for Payton my answer is no. I would prefer to use those picks on a player who can make a big difference in Dallas, and those picks could probably get Dallas 2 players who will make a big difference.

2) Prescott is what he is. He lacks talent. He'll never be the reason why you win. He needs to be carried. I'm tired of even talking about this.

A hard truth most fans refuse to accept. Prescott has improved some, but people should go back and look at the scouting reports leading up to the draft or even in the draftzone from before he was drafted. They’ll notice a trend of the same deficiencies that everyone attached to him then are the same ones he has now. His shortcomings have been disguised by having elite weapons and an elite OL for much of his professional career. When he doesn’t have either of those things, we’ve all seen the results.

1.Lamb is sort of a bust, not a total bust, but he wasnt worth a # 1 pick.
He has played like a avg wr, and some lower round picks have probably played better and with more intensity than he has.
I think cowboys and fans anointed him with barrels of oil as soon as he arrived, and he fell into the culture trap here.

2. your tired of talking about this so I wont respond to this. :p
3. no comment
4.Payton may or may not want to come to dallas. I dont see him letting moore call plays and run the offense.
he is used to having a lot of control with his team and players, coaches, and probably the draft, so I would be shocked if he came here and gave
any of that up.
fans are saying get payton, but that wont happen unless jerry is willing to give up a lot of his control, so do you guys see jerry doing that??
he might but I doubt it.
Regarding Payton possibly coming here: This is EXACTLY what Jerry wants- the talk of Sean Payton “wanting” to be the next HC of the Cowboys. I would place the % of likelihood that Payton comes to Dallas as about 5% chance. Jerry just wants that talk out there to put pressure on Big Mac and to have the talk imply that Payton would love to be here.

Cooper is about to be gone and he clearly is the best WR on the team and makes all the other WRs jobs much easier.

Zeke, Smith, Martin all a year older and another year of wear and tear on their bodies.

All of this with not enough money to replace them with equal talent.

You think the offense isn't good enough now? You've seen nothing yet I'm afraid.
I suspect the Cowboys will cut some defensive talent to keep Dak happy.

And yet, it's a "win or else" year, which looks more like a rebuild project. In other words, good bye McCarthy....

Replace Dak? That's just crazy talk.
You would think that crazy contract would quench that thought....funny how that just keeps coming back. People who watch the film know...#4 has a lot of room to improve.

1) The production of CeeDee Lamb has been a disappointment. How much of that is on him is highly debatable. I put it on the QB more than him but I do think he owns some of it too.

2) Prescott is what he is. He lacks talent. He'll never be the reason why you win. He needs to be carried. I'm tired of even talking about this.

3) Not cutting Anthony Brown would show more of a lack of belief in that circus freak Nahshon Wright. You don't typically want to pay a 4th corner that much but you can when your top 2 corners are on rookie contracts.

4) Sean Payton would love to coach the Cowboys but I don't care. His resume shows he isn't an upgrade over Mike McCarthy. Both are quality coaches but unless the owner changes they are doomed to fail.
His 16 drops in his first two season is squarely on him, not Dak. If he even cuts that number in half, his production will look a lot different. he would have been over 1k yds as a rookie and likely would have cleared 1.2k yds this past season.

Give up the Sean Payton pipe dream. His next gig will not be in Dallas.

good point, does 2 things, keeps cowboys in the news, and gives fans hope. also puts pressure on mike, but really what can mike do??
he has very little control over coaches and players, so only way he can do better is with game time decisions.

I dont know how much he controls, but it seems like it isnt much. he is just along for the ride lol.
If I were mike, I would have quit when jerry made the coaching comments recently, it would have been a good time to bail out.

I'm not sure if "no one" is asking, but it's an interesting chat about Cee Dee, Dak's future, Sean Payton, and others.

What if Dak's second half is what he his going forward? What if Sean Payton doesn't really want to coach the Cowboys?

And what if it’s not. What if it’s like the first half of the season. I’m tired of what if could be

People have nerve accusing you of not knowing what you're talking about.

The truth is a bitter pill.

Trust me, several of you keep me quite aware pretty much daily.

It seemed easier and more fun when denial was a strong flowing river.
Risen is a top 3 poster here, you might not like the way he comes off but he is usually right..he been calling Dak overrated for years, and same with jaylon,Randy Gregory,lve...etc.. people been calling him a hater and philly fan for years but he's been right the 90% of the time...and besides all that, the guy makes me laugh when he pisses people off.

He could practice by giving Bigmac control I really dont think Payton is much of an upgrade over Bigmac they are about the same

Payton is not gonna be anyones coach next year
There is no reason to believe the second half of last year will be the future
