Both fall to 24, you're name is Stephen Jones, who do you pick?

I didn't pick these two guys randomly, I picked these guys because most scouts have
high grades on both players, yet they both play neglected positions, center and safety.

Center's aren't generally looked at
in the first round, definitely not front end of the first round. Can Linderbaum play Guard, idk but it's not whats on tape?!!

Also, if you're drafting in the top 15,
your team is probably not that good and a center is not going to make or break your next season.

Kyle Hamilton should also be there based on past drafts. Safeties are generally very unloved and
neglected! Just look at the Dallas Cowboys, you would have to go back to Roy Lee WIlliams to find a premium pick we spent on a safety. Cowboys don't care about the position. Moehrig last year was super drop! Xavier Mckinney huge drop!

WIth that said, If I'm Stephen J......... "with the 24th pick overall the Dallas Cowboys select Kyle Hamilton Safety Notre Dame!"

Drafting Linderbaum creates a bigger issue. It makes Tyler Biadass useless. Then what? I rather not draft Linderbaum or Hamilton honestly. But if I had to, give me Linderbaum I guess.

Guess it could happen, Ive seen crazier things than Hamilton dropping to 24 but I doubt it in this draft.
That would be the "Parsons" situation staring you in the face,

Im just a big fan of Zion. Draft him this year, put him next to Biadasz and see what happens. If C remains the weak link, move Zion to center where everyone thinks he will be great and look for a G next year.
I know I'm suggested high players that drop but for whatever reason I see Zion already drafted. He's the best true guard. He won't be there at 24.
Center probably will.

Linderbaum (as with a veteran LG) we are at least ready to fight with a vastly improved O-line (helping our run game and therefore not allowing teams to play deep coverage) .
We already have Wilson and Kearse at SS, and whilst Hamilton's an upgrade, it isn't such as big an upgrade as Linderbaum and vet LG gives to the no.1 concern.

Zion won't fall any further than #23. Arizona is in love with that guy.

If we go OL in the first round this makes most sense to me too. We need a walk-in starter at OG. I think a better OG helps more than replacing Biadasz.

I have Kenyon Green as my one . Plug him in and with Zack Martin you have a nice upgrade to your interior hopefully improving a run game which helps Dak open things up in the passing game. I admit the center position needs competition at the very least . To be honest this is a tough question but I guess Linderbaum if it had to be one of these two choices.

Based on having Kearse back which is a very good off season move and hopefully Wilson stays healthy as well at safety .

Hamilton. OC is bigger need but Hamilton is about 10/15 slots higher on most boards out there and is the better player.

I suppose it's whether we want to seriously compete in 2022 and 2023. If we do then we already have SS covered and I for one am quite happy with Kearse at SS (especially at $3.7m and $6.2m). When you're a team with so many holes ,as we have, it's not about slots or BPA's (when it's non-difference making positions) , it's about improving your team by replacing what you've got.

Hamilton is a play maker. When was the last time we had a play making safety: Woody.
And bluntly speaking Hamilton is a HUGE upgrade to what we have.

I don't doubt Alec Lindstrom, 6-3. 295, might be the Center picked by Dallas in the 3rd/4th round, if Tyler Linderbaum is already gone. He's a smart and reliable Boston College pivot who figures to be a good pick at that point in the draft. He might well be a big step up from Tyler Biadasz. If nothing else, he would surely be a good backup and very capable competition.

If they were similarly graded prospects I’d lean Tyler but they’re not. He’s a fringe 1st rounder that’s smallish with short arms.

I also think your underselling what Hamilton could do in our defense. He’s a lot more than just a “SS.”

Let me know which previous drafts that top 10 talents at safety have fallen to 24

Closest I can remember is James falling to 17 a few years ago and he was considered a top 10 talent in that draft.

I definately am under selling him...on grounds 1) we have Kearse (you need to take into account difference between existing and draftee...not between the draftee's themselves). 2) SS is useful but a secondary unit which by design is more useful in damage limitation.
