As soon as the last pick in the 2002 NFL Draft was announced, thus finishing the draft, the Dallas Cowboys were on the phone...

With their first post-draft signing, the Cowboys signed Undrafted Free Agent S Markquese Bell from Florida A&M.

YES!!!

It's mind-boggling how Markquese Bell went undrafted, but the Cowboys knew who to call and sign first.

Markquese Bell: 6'3", 205 lbs, 4.41 40 time...

Guy looks like Jayron Kearse… can see why Quinn has a vision for him. Hope he sticks and finds a role

He looks like a safety who has definite pro possibilities. It'll be intriguing to see how well he fares in the practices in the weeks to come. He was considered as a 3/4th round talent. He's already been signed.

There's another UDFA prospect I like at Center, named Alec Lindstrom, who was rated as a 3/4th round talent. I'll watch to see if he gets signed to a contract. I feel confident that he'd be good competition for Biadasz, if nothing else. He's smart and anchors well for his size at 6-3, 295.

I don’t know what type of competition that is, and you always have to take minimal highlight reels with a grain of salt, but his anticipatory speed looks fast and his tackling looks sharp.

Looks like Donovan Wilson, but we see nothing in coverage.

Can’t believe he went undrafted

He is a 'traits' player. Exactly what you want as UDFA.

  • He had a very up and down college experience:
  • 2017: Maryland early enrollee; Suspended prior to the season and left the program in November.
  • 2018: Community college.
  • 2019: Florida A&M; Led team in PD, FFs, INTs.
  • 2020: Florida A&M apparently completely cancelled their season.
  • 2021: Florida A&M; First Team All-American; First Team All-SWAC; Led team in tackles, FFs.
