Just the Top 5....

  • The Beatles
  • Led Zeppelin
  • The Rolling Stones
  • Pink Floyd
  • The Who

Since the headline is British Rock and not British Invasion, I need either era or genre.

Need to fit bands like The Moody Blues, Yes, Black Sabbath, The Yardbirds, Queen, ELO and Kinks in there.

Not my thread so it's not my rules but don't have to play either. I also don't like being limited to 5 unless we're playing the Marooned on a Deserted Island game, that just happens to have electricity and a damned good sound system because if I am there alone, I am letting it rip wide open

The OP's 5 are a fine selection but would I put Zep in with those bands? Only because he wouldn't let me do genres.

Speaking of Zep, and I was, doesn't it just piss you off when they call them a Heavy Metal band and even give them credit for the genre?

Jimmy Page addressed this one time and said they were closer to a Blues or Progressive Rock band than metal. And he wasn't slighting metal, just didn't like them being labelled wrongly.

Zeppelin metal? :laugh::laugh::laugh:
They were a wonderful mix of blues, hard rock, acoustic material and maybe a pinch of progressive rock.
