The silliness of this franchise is amazing. You had a clear hole at LG. You drafted a kid to fill that hole since you signed ZERO OGs in FA. Put the kid at LG and just let him get settled there before you start thinking about training him to play for Tyron Smith. It's not that hard, people.

I agree with this statement from McCarthy. He definitely needs to keep Tyler Smith concentrating on 1 position at this time: Left Guard. We have other young backups who should be getting reps for either Tackle positions. For now, let Tyler Smith learn to become a master of 1 position, than be average of 2 positions.

I think a lot of us would agree because we felt that Tyler needed to acclimate to guard and get that spot down before cross-training at tackle (especially since tackle was his college spot). Glad to see McCarthy making that wise adjustment.
