This is the problem with this team. Simply no depth. They have known for years Smith was injury prone and Jones failed to adequately address this. And we all see how well Dak performs when he gets less than stellar left tackle play. Hope the D is legit and wins us a few..

He’s not coming back this year.

The new LT is either excelling and you don’t want to change it up. Or they suck so bad the season is over
Exactly and if he did. He would be a shadow of himself.

Why do they even let this guy practice? It's not like he needs it. Just sit him until the season starts. Sheesh!

But I'd still wait to after week one to sign a vet, so his salary isn't guaranteed. For our week one matchup we can start McGovern at RG, slide Martin to RT, and move Steele to LT.

Just thinking out loud.

Look at how the Bengals did last year with that train wreck of an OL. Dak and Big Mike better be great or they will be late for the bus to El Paso leaving the state.
Big Mike and Zeke are on the 1st bus while Dak is booked for next season.......All aboard!!!!

Who was the poster saying we made it out of camp with no injuries, lol.

It sucks, but probably a blessing in disguise for the long-run. OL needs to build continuity and it's very important to play with the same 5 guys. Tyron has become Sean Lee, he cannot help the team in and out of the lineup. They drafted Tyler Smith is replace him down the line, make the move now, deal with the growing pains and hopefully towards the end of the season, we have our new quality LT and we no longer have to hold our breath every time Tyron gets hurt. Team just has to move on from Tyron next season and continue rebuilding their OL.

So you would bring in anyone from the outside......Fisher or trade for Wynn?

Well that didn't take long now we have to move our starting left guard to left tackle and hope for the best with Smith and Connor McGovern at right guard.

The old hamstring injury that can never really see damage and can just last as long as one wants.

The injury they couldn’t really afford is the one you saw coming from a mile away! Denial just slapped them in the face with rubber gloves!!

This is 100% a total Front Office failure. They did nothing to properly backup a player that has been hurt for 3 straight years. Ownership is the only thing anyone can blame. So much for getting hurt in pre-season games eh?

Tyron is dead. Long live Tyron.

Time to face facts & retire. It's just not viable to continue.

History repeats itself.

Brady and other teams compensate and win with injuries.

Statistically this team is complete garbage w/o Smith.

Ouch.. that hurts.. in every way imaginable. Physical and emotional pain for him.. On the field pain for the team and major pain for us fans. I hope he is able to get back.. but this saddens me greatly. The guy is such a great great player.. but sometimes the body wants you to do something other than wrestle other 300 pound men for a living. His body may be saying that to him.
