Not to be dramatic, but this could kill the season. Tyler wasn't even ready to start at LG with Tyron beside him. Now we're gonna trot him out there at harder position with McGovern beside him? And a starting TE that is pretty mediocre at blocking?

Oh and we have one starting receiver. Shouldn't be hard to defend us.
We will just run more. Easy.

well if they dont sign an OT now they are not serious of even winning the NFCE.
they have a few weeks to get this done, better than having it happen a few games into the season with less available names left and time to acclimate them into the offense as a reality not a sudden punch in the gut.

no Chaz green moments can someone email those videos to the Jonses as reminder that just anybody can not fill an important positions :)) if they are delusional enough to out Wally or Ball over there , we are in trouble.

History repeats itself.

Brady and other teams compensate and win with injuries.

Statistically this team is complete garbage w/o Smith.
Sorry to say but if that is the case it was Garbage before Smith went down.
Someone should find out why and fix this anomaly as one injured LT doesn't equate to a lost season for a team!

Tyron gave us some good years. You only wish a player of his caliber rode off with a ring. I wish him the best!

I've never bailed on Tyron and wanted to cut short his career because of the injuries but this is it for me. He'd never play another down for the Cowboys if I made the call.
You cannot have that kind of uncertainty each and every year knowing he will miss time. An intelligent GM with accountability would move on. But we have neither, so here we are.

I agree, but you can also schematically help your OL. More double TE formations, 3 step drops, coming more run oriented, etc.

our coaching staff has never been able to do this

Same. His injuries last year were NOT injury-prone issues - they were literally what happens when you get rolled up on. But this one is different. It ends his year and at this point, unless he has a BURNING desire to play, I'd hang them up.

It's not ideal but you move the rookie out to LT and let him learn on the fly. He was getting dominated in the LG competition with McGovern anyway. This helps him save face.

Going to be a long season. At least we get that glorious day in October when Jerry turns 80.

It would be awful hard to take this team seriously if they refuse to bring a vet Olineman.

This is 100% a total Front Office failure

Half this board ignored the red flags as well. The FO did spend a first round pick on a guy that is supposed to be able to play the spot even though he may not be ready for a while. So, I can't say they haven't tried to address it.

You can't have that at ANY Position. The fact is that the front office took steps to actively REDUCE depth at the OL position without a reasonable backup plan. I don't mind getting rid of La'Ell Collins. I have a big problem with getting rid of La'el Collins and your best backup plan is Josh Ball and whomever you pickup in a draft.

They are saying avulsion fracture, which after googling, says its a 6-8 week type of injury
6-8 weeks? The ligament or tendon pulled a piece of bone away from the knee! The younger player, “Jets tackle Mekhi Becton suffered one earlier this month and has been placed on season-ending injured reserve.”

Best internal BUT not best External. Too much time to not make a decision like this, LG and LT far too big gap in readiness needed. no way that my plan, maybe backup plan.

I never liked Tyler at LT but could not agree more. Move him out leave McGovern at LG, replace Biadasz with Warniok and play a good amount of 2TE sets. Passing offense is horrifying BUT that line should be able to run block against any team in the league.

Yeah I bought that the surgery he had last year finally addressed his issues and he was good to go now.

Oh well. On hindsight that was another bad draft pick.
