Pollard a FA next year would cost too much to franchise and Schultz is proving it’s the wrong route go when you have a Ferguson Hendershot ready to take over in 23 and your franchise TE has been hobbled throughout .

Zeke yr 8 next yr which is practically ancient for that position in the NFL and expensive .

Zach Evans out of Ole Miss on day two of the 23 draft 3rd round would be a nice fit to eventually be your workhorse back . Pollard remember was a 4th rounder and he’s carved out a nice niche with Elliott .

Kenneth Walker who the Seahawks just love as there 2nd rounder was a guy I had hoped Dallas would take this drsdt but it would mean no Sam Williams and probably meant Dallas would have had to trade up to have taken Walker who went slot 41 . RB is critical to the success of your expensive QB and Evans would be a good transition .

Of course I want Bjian Robinson the most.

But if we must have a 2nd to 4th RB give me ...

Zach Charbonnet, UCLA (6-1, 224)
This guy is a north-south one cut runner and is a thumper.

Robinson too high a pick for Dallas . You look at the Cowboys having to go out sign Peters at 40 yrs old then go out and have to grab a Hankins to yet again bolster DT I say the top of the Cowboys draft should be O and D line. .

If you invest in a running back 3rd or 4th round you can find the right fit to give you carries and home run potential . Evans has better tape as a TCU frog when Patterson was shown the door Evans trans to Ole Miss this year.

Kenneth Walker might be the NFC rookie offensive player of the year he would have looked good in Dallas although with 21 and 20 still here I understand why Dallas didn’t trade up 2nd round to grab him .

Sam Williams I am thrilled with that pick man is going to be quite an edge . In Seattle Pete Carroll has a legit home run threat in Walker to help Geno Smith drive the bus , hoping Walker goes off on the Giants today .

Getting out of Zekes contract is a must IMO…

I’d love to see us sign a cheap RB then draft one mid rounds. Evans is a stud…love him as a prospect but there are plenty of good options that could be had in round 3 or beyond.

DO NOT DRAFT a RB round 1 or pay Pollard.

If you are picking in the bottom of the 1st round and Bijan Robinson is on the board you seriously consider taking him. He is a game changer.

Too many other needs . The Bears are still calling a running play at DFW . Pollard was a 4th rounder . A back like Pearce out of Florida went in this past draft can be had rounds three & four next April . What Jerry will do I predict is pay Pollard as a number one feature back and ask Elliott to take severe cut in pay or good bye.

Yes, but no earlier than the 3rd. And no more dancers, we need a plow to side Pollard.

Jahmyr Gibbs is the best running back in college this year and it's not even close. Definitely should be onthe radar for Dallas in this draft. Speed, vision and some of the best footwork I've haven't seen in a long time at the collegiate level.

Alvin Kamara clone

I like Jahmyr Gibbs - think he would be a great replacement for Pollard. My gut tells me Elliott will still be on the team next year at a significantly reduced contract. Hope we learned are lesson about running backs on 2nd contracts.

Bijan Robinson is the consensus #1 RB in this draft.

You don't draft for need, That gets you Taco Charleton over TJ Watt.
And if you think a mid to late RB will produce like Robinson you need to watch some game tape on him. He is the full package and has elite hands too. He is a lethal passing threat as much as a running threat.

Not drafting for needs keeps you at .500. Everything has to be considered when drafting, including needs.

Taco was BPA, btw, and was rated over Watt by most scouts. There actually is no such thing as BPA, because rating players is not just a matter of one over another. There are a ton of factors involved.

Lol?

Because you’re already paying Zeke $15M per season and have Pollard.

Why would you then want to spend more draft capital to move up and draft a 3rd RB?

Walker is awesome though.

Read the post I said “ I understand why Dallas didn’t trade up “ to get Walker , Next season Pollard is going to want to get paid and Zeke is already expensive . On the draft forum I had a suggestion for Dallas around third round next April . I suspect what will happen is Pollard will get paid royally by Jerry and Zeke either takes a substantial cut in pay or is exited .

Like I said Pollard was a 4th rounder . You can find a HR hitting back rounds 3-4 . Our defense while much improved just gave up 200 yards rushing . In the playoffs coaches will scheme on Cowboy weaknesses . I think what will end up happening is Jerry will sign a 26 yr old back to a 4 yr contract and Pollard is your feature back . Just don’t ask him to psss block KM .

You can also find a Tom Brady in the 6th round but the odds are astronomical. Bijan Robinson is vastly superior to Pollard. You get the best of Zeke and Pollard in one running back.
