I also remembered Novacek's hurdle for a touchdown against an all-out blitz.

Jake's hurdle is higher and more impressive.

Do not ever under-estimate any Wisconsin player. Jake is Barry Alvarez's grandson.
On the note of family, Ferguson talked about the great advice he received from his family at Wisconsin.

“We always talk about three words that we live by at Wisconsin: smart, tough, dependable,” Ferguson said. “In the last five years of college football, I’ve been trying to base my life on and off the field off of those three words.”

Ferguson said this was part of how he tried to convince Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy to draft him.

“That was my pitch to Coach McCarthy, telling him, ‘Hey, I’m smart. I’m gonna be able to pick up the plays,” he told reporters during his first press conference as a Cowboys draft pick. “I’m tough; throw me into any scenario and I’ll be ready. And I’m dependable: you can depend on me.’”

Another T-Day Memorable catch, 1991 165 lb Kelvin Martin gets nailed in the head by the safety, 43 pounds heavier, and it looks like no one can survive such a blow. I thought K-Mart was paralyzed by this gruesome hit. But a reason KMart made it to the NFL was because he could take hits and keep ticking. He was blessed with a body made out of rubber. Further incredible fact: he did not miss a game due to this hit. He played the next game 10 days earlier. Any normal human being would have had internal decapitation or paralysis from this hit.

Found another classic big play, 1991 at Washington, a Hail Mary and rookie Alvin Harper outleaps everyone for the TD. The footage starts at 1:49

What people may not realize was that Jay "Bum" Novacek was a national champion decathlete in High School.

You can see his hurdle form in that clip and he was more efficient than Jake's jump.

I think Jake had to jump a bit higher though, which makes it harder to recover.

It was an incredible hurdle by both. It'd be great if we really do have the next Paycheck Novacek.

Novacek was a state champion hurdler , as was Zeke so they would have better form . That said great add to the cowboys. Our search for a chain moving TE group and some better blockers seems to have been solved

Novacek’s was a little smoother plus bonus points for taking it all the way to the house.

Ferguson will make Schultz’s departure after the season easier.

I was just about to mention this. A lot of people are unaware what an athlete he was.
