My Car Was Stolen This Afternoon

Hands down the most bizarre thing that's ever happened to me. My wife was grocery shopping, I was at home on my back deck smoking a brisket flat and listening to the radio in broad daylight when some young punk took a cab into my neighborhood and boosted my car. Right out of my driveway.

It feels so damn violating. It was such a quick and concise job that even my dogs (who bark at everything) didn't notice anything amiss.

I really wanted to alert Zoners that may drive older model Kia's and Hyundai's to invest in a wheel lock system or a GPS tracker that you can mount to the car inconspicuously. There is apparently a TikTok Challenge that I was not aware of where you can break the steering column, and start the engine with a USB drive. The police who responded to the call told me that close to 10 vehicles in my area had been stolen in the last 24 hours. Social media has created a car theft fetishism.

It takes a real piece of crap to steal property from hard working people around the Holidays.

Be safe, ya'll.
Forget the wheel lock, that’s for rookies. This is what you should have installed!

That sucks. I have had stuff stolen from my car but not the entire car.

I am close to concluding that the world has far too many cretins and we may need a good purge.

I once had a Led Zeppelin tape stolen from my car, and even that felt like a violation. I can only imagine what you're feeling. I'm sorry this happened to you, and I hope the dick gets caught and you get your car back in good condition.

Way to relate bro.

It's a viral thing that started in the Midwest.

There's a class action lawsuit going against Hyundai and Kia going now because they haven't provided any kind of reasonable solution at this time.
I am sorry to hear that and I heard about that challenge. I have an older 2013 Sonata and I think the challenge is for 2016-2022 models. Your right Hyundai and Kia aren’t doing much about except you can buy something that could prevent this but it is expensive from what I read. Ironically all the other car companies have put in devices in their cars that prevent this from happening but Hyundai never put it in their cars. They are now I heard.

Hope you get your car back.

My car was a 2013. If you're driving the Sonata, I'd recommend investing in a wheel lock or a GPS locator that you can mount somewhere in the vehicle.

Tik Tok is straw that will break our societal back. Sorry you had you go through that. Hope the car is recovered without any damage.

I have that already. I have a security system on it that will found out that won’t start the car unless you have the key. Found out the hard way that I had to take tow it down to the dealership once because my car would not start.

...oh wow, mate. That's terrible. Even more terrible, social media is an asset to these blatant attacks.

I would be fuming........:mad::mad:

Get yourself another dog. Build a place for them right next to the drive way. Im surprised the dogs didnt hear anything.

Stay safe, and Happy New year to you and family.. ;)..

You think that’s bad. One time I went grocery shopping. Came outside to unload. Car was gone. Only thing left was a Led Zeppelin tape on the ground of the empty parking spot.

I hate Tictoc vids. The huge majority of them are exceedingly lame.
Yep, what's really funny are the ones that are prefixed with the word hack, which are nothing more than some stupid kid putting miracle whip on a grilled cheese sandwich to make it taste better. It's almost like they think they discovered fire or reinvented the wheel:laugh::laugh:dumb

Life hacks...lol

I do like that one guy who makes fun of all the extra steps people go through for their "life hacks", Khaby Lame.
