Buccaneers don't deserve to go to the playoffs

They're in because their division is garbage. They didn't even manage a winning record. I've always felt the playoffs were for teams with winning records. If some team wins its division with a losing record, then I think they should just not have any team from that division in the playoffs. There should be no NFC South representation in the playoffs this season. Instead, they should just create an extra wildcard and give it to a team with a winning record.

and yet Dallas will still find a way to lose to that undeserving team

It's the league's own fault. They decided to go with eight 4 team divisions. Of course it's going to happen now and then. Had they went with a 6, 5, 5 structure, the very worst you'd see is a .500 winner, and very rarely.

The rules have been clear for years on end and they aren't the first team to make it with a losing record.

I have no problem with division winners making the playoffs.

Yes, they do. Divisions are there for a reason - it's not the Bucs fault that the other teams in their division sucked more than they do.

They deserve it because they won their own division as poor as it may be they still won their division. Now playoff start and all teams are 0-0 what happened in the regular season really does not matter. It comes down to what you do now.

It's their fault they didn't get a winning record.
...and yet, they still won the division. Refer back to my previous post.

Just a bad take, dude. Anyways, if they aren't deserving of it, we should prove it easily when we face them, right?

Here is a little run from a 7-9 team against the defending Super Bowl champs in the playoffs

We SHOULD beat the crap out of them, yes. Whether or not we actually will is anyone's guess. This Cowboys team is psycho.

Quit crying about it, only 6 teams since 1970 have won their division with a .500 or worse record, the ones complaining about it act like it happens every year

Don't tell me I don't get to be against an NFL rule I don't like. The whole point of a site like this is we get to talk about the sport. I still hate the 1978 bump and run rule and want that repealed. I think a team should only make the playoffs if it actually has a winning record. I think that's a reasonable standard. If no team in a division has a winning record, then that division should simply be unrepresented in the playoffs. The next team in the wildcard hunt, if it has a winning record, should make the playoffs instead.

I mean, the Bucs are an 8-9 team. Any other year before last, they'd be 8-8. It's not inconceivable that a team with their record makes playoffs.

LOL The Cowboys have won the trash division for years and now it's on the other foot. If TB is trash than Dallas should beat them.

That's not the point. The point is we should be playing some other team, someone who earned their way into the playoffs via a winning record. It's not about the probabilities of a Dallas victory. This team is lunatic enough to lose to a bad a mediocre team like Washington. The Cowboys might lose to the Bucs, or it might lose to whichever team got in with an extra wild card. That's totally beside the point. I would be against any team with a losing record being in the playoffs even if the Cowboys went 0 and 17.

I also think the Bucs have stupid uniforms, but that's also beside the point. The playoffs should be a contest between teams who got winning records during the regular season, and the Bucs could do that even with stupid uniforms.

The irony is apparently your team (the Cowboys) are playing a team that won their division that is in your words, garbage in the playoffs, and that team shouldn't even be there. Why in God's tarnation are you complaining? LMAO

Reality is it wasn't that long ago that the NFC East was garbage as well.

... and if the Cowboys had won the NFCE at 8 and 8 or 7 and 9, or some other trash record, I would also be saying they don't deserve to go to the playoffs. The playoffs are for teams with winning records.

Simple, you win your division, you're in the playoffs, no matter how horrible your division is.

Everyone knows what the rules are.

Now, when you have college fans get excited when their team is playing in a bowl game with a .500 winning percentage, that's another story in my book.

That's how the rules are now. But I'm allowed to be for changing the rules. I don't want any team in the playoffs who couldn't manage to get a winning record in the regular season. If the Cowboys can't do it, then I don't feel they deserve to be in the playoffs. This year the entire NFC Sloth deserved to have to stay home.
